Just a human - that is what Loki thinks when fighting Bucky the first time he tries to take over earth.
Just a human - he thinks as the Avengers capture him and he is so fucking scared. He would never swear out loud nor admit how unnerving the supersoldiers were.
Just a human - as he remembers stumbling onto earth hundred years ago just to see Bucky with the Howlies singing and laughing. He trailed behind them for a while then but once Bucky noticed? Loki knew better than to hang around. He had a gun after all.
It's still just the human as Loki gets ripped out of his timeline by the TVA. As he gets kicked in the time cell. As he begs for it to stop. He misses that constant in his life.
He asks Mobius how to cope.
Noting helps as the man holds him - its the wrong human. Sometimes he wishes he could lend him his eyes. Lend him his hips and lend him his thighs.
The second he gets out and manages to go back he notices how Steve looks at Bucky. How he dotes on him and holds him close.
Sometimes he wishes he could lend them his ears. Lend them his thoughts and lend them his tears. He grits his teeth and moves on - he is the god of outcasts after all. He is alone but now its not so scary.
He travels Midgard half hoping to lend somebody his shoes. Lend them his life and lend them his truth. Lucky is he as on one sunlit path he meets Logan Howlett and strikes up a chat.
The anger reminds him of the one he felt but also of the man he once wanted to have. That's still not the reason for which they connected - they go on some missions, they fight for some time. They bicker, they rest and that is the start.
Loki no longer has the need to lend. Logan sees him and Logan is there.
Logan wishes to stay like that until end of time. They share taste in music and taste in wine. The future is bright as summers go by - Logan now sings, Loki now writes.
