Powered by an OHV 3.2 litre engine, the 20/60 was capable of over 70 mph when fitted with touring coachwork and the motoring journalists of the time were highly impressed by the refinement and advanced specification, which included powerful four wheel brakes. From 1926 the model became the Sunbeam 20 of 2916 and latterly 3317cc seven main bearing six cylinder engines, and a choice of 124.5 and 131 inch wheelbases. In 1930 the 3317cc engine was introduced as the Sunbeam 23.8 while the 2916cc engine remained in production until 1935 in the Speed 20. In addition to the larger engine the 23.8 received vacuum servo brakes and a silent third gearbox.
