        ❝   i   said,   i'm   fine,   ❞   the   voice   comes   as   jean   is   picking   herself   up   off   the   gurney.   she   wasn't   supposed   to   be   in   charge   of   her   own   medical   files,   but   here   she   was   anyway,   limping   over   to   the   computer   &   exiting   out   of   her   history   with   a   sigh.   in   all   honesty,   it   hurt   like   a   bitch   when   jean   got   injured.   there   was   little   to   no   protection   for   her   in   her   suit,   her   mind   proving   to   be   the   only   weapon   valuable   to   her.   however,   when   she   turns   &   sees   logan   standing   there,   there's   a   little   bit   of   a   nod   given.   ❝   ---   what   about   you?   feeling   alright   after   that   last   mission?   ❞

“ Awful Little man. He smells TERRIBLE and is UTTERLY UNLIKABLE. He’s easily one of my favorites because we never speak a word to each other when possible and every time he falls into water I get to enjoy watching him DROWN sinking STRAIGHT to the bottom like an anchor and I PRAY for it every time we have a mission near water. Despite being a low brow fool and continuously acknowledging his own INCOMPETENCE in most fields he cannot seem to STOP HIMSELF from giving UNSOLICITED, UNWANTED and UNNEEDED advice. Also seems to think he’s some how morally superior while also being as much as if not more of an immoral bastard as Doom and I ever are. ”

IT’S A RARE QUIET MOMENT OF REFLECTION, when life gives him a minute of peace amongst the chaos. fingers idly pick at the beer bottle in his hand, not actually wanting to drink it (though he can see logan’s already gotten a healthy start on his). he remembers the last time they were here --back when he was torn between two lovers and not sure which path to take, when he needed to take the edge off even during a problem entirely of his own making. finally, he sets his untouched drink down, glance traveling over to his uncharacteristically quiet teammate.  ❛  you ever think about just...giving it a rest and settling down once and for all? ❜ he pauses.  ❛  i know you once had...with mariko...but do you feel like you’re just....reaching for that chance again? ❜ // @wolverinetm​

       there's   a   slight   pause   as   jean's   eyes   close   in   defeat.   after   everything   with   the   phoenix,   jean   has   needed   space   &   time   between   some   of   her   old   friends.   so   when   she   saw   that   she   might   have   to   interact   with   some   of   them,   she   tried   to   sneak   away.   she   should   have   known   better.   everyone   there   knows   her   better   than   that.   jean   gives   a   little   sigh   before   turning   on   her   heel   to   meet   logan's   eyes.   ❝   i'm   really   not   ready   to   see   everyone.   ❞
