I haven't returned to The Place in The Wilde yet this week. I spent so much time and worked my guts out there over the past fortnight, preparing for #womengatherin that we needed some time apart. 🛠🎪 This pic is from the night before Women Gather-in started. We strung a giant tarp over the roof, because the weather had kept us from attaching the roof we really wanted. This tarp did great things though, and kept the rain off the women's sessions all day Sunday. 🌦🎪 I'm so proud of all of us who helped create this space. Here we go again : more chainsawing. Ruth and I worked our butts off yesterday, to get all the poles complete. Today my mama and Guardian of the Women's Space, @bolj_ almost completed the frames. This Gaia statue stands as tall as a human, emerging from the Earth and reminding us that all Women are of the Earth. Yesterday I was schooled on chainsaw usage and finished cutting, setting and padding in the uprights for the Women's Lodge at The Place in The Wilde. Our roof beams are also cut, and await some framing work this week. We will be working out there Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Women welcome to join us, even if you can't life heavy things, we will accept your kind offerings of food and water, and the bringing of other children to amuse mine while we work. We had some Gate Crashers from up the road while digging the post holes for the Women's Lodge at The Place in The Wilde. It seems a good sign to have a herd of mamas and their suckling babes decide to move in, while we are building women's space. Here we are, Ruth and I, building the Lodge at The Place in The Wilde. Yesterday the two of us finished digging all the post holes, built the paths into the Lodge from the camping area, cleared square metres of bracken for the car park, and had heaps of fun.
