Okay so I can only add one video at a time BUT I have another I need to add so badly. So I’ll reblog this in a second with it. @soroki I didn’t take too many pictures but it was so much fun!!! I got to sit in the closest row to the field, and it was so awesome getting to watch players like Charlotte North and Taylor Moreno play UGH I’m so sad we lost and I couldn’t focus the last few minutes since Charlotte North got injured but omg. Taylor Moreno is like maybe the best goalie ever because she was stopping like CRAZY shots. It was insane.

My second patch with the speed loom. The warp was kinda weirdly spaced so it's not as tight as it could be. Also found out the hard way that I needed a smaller needle but didn't have one on hand so I'll have to clean up the area where the tails where.

This was also my first time weaving in my tails so it is, um, a mess. But no one will see it and I'm the only one who has to know!

I chose these colors because they are the school colors of the first official team I played lacrosse on. I had played in my local rec league since 5th grade and was over the moon when I actually joined my middle schools JV team as the goalie! I actually got these sweats at a tournament we went to years ago, and I want to keep them as long as possible.

What's extra cool about these sweats is that all the proceds from sales went directly to heritage and land conservation funds for Native People of America. I have no clue if the company is still around, but it was one guy and his daughter that really wanted to educate about the roots of lacrosse itself and the people that it came from. In modern times its known as a rich white mans, preppy college sport, but the history behind the game is beyond fascinating.

I was only able to play on my high-schools Varsity team for a couple weeks before the pandemic shut down the schools, and by then, lacrosse was a staple in my life. During this time I also transferred to a different high school and they had a lacrosse team.... The twist though is that they only had a guys team and no womens, so your girl happily played goalie for the guys team and had a blast!

Lesbian Problems

Not Carmilla related but I need to GET THIS OFF MY CHEST!!!

I had a good ole sports game today and oh my heavenly lords. The other girl I was marking was the prettiest damn lacrosse player. I was so conflicted and my heart was doing little flips; I was like “don’t hate me for getting the ball from you”

*whispering during the whole game* you’re so pretty and I’m so gay but if I get distracted my coach with kill me...

So my school, for the first year ever, has a women’s lacrosse team. I was one of the three people to help form this team. Today was the first official day of the season. It’s a lot of work and I’m in pretty terrible shape. I have no lacrosse experience. But I have determination. Today I made it as our starting goalie.

My coach noticed that during conditioning whenever I took a ball to the body I’d just shrug it off so she wanted to try me out in goal. I was skeptical because I felt that being in goal I wouldn’t make me feel like I was truly part of the team. Today during tryouts I was in goal and worked with my coach and then we scrimmaged. My coach told me I was doing fantastic. I felt at home in that goal. I realized that I was meant to be goalie.

Today was a good day. I’ve put in hard work and dedication and it’s brought me to where I’m supposed to be

I hate covering up my natural freckles but my skin isn’t clear enough for me to feel confident without foundation and then when some of them still show through it looks really odd so I’ve started drawing them back on! I used a copper colourpop eyeliner to draw them on today because I got my hair colored and instead of ginger/blonde ombré I’m a ginger/rose gold gal. (Even though my lighting makes my hair look brunette, it’s much more red irl.)

You can hear someone yell something along the lines of “SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT” in this video and that was Charlotte North, her voice projects SO loudly it’s crazy, the communication she had with her teammates is next level and just. So good. Her awareness of the field and the other team and her own team is insane like.
