#WonderWeekender 6th-8th

So it’s the weekend yet again #WonderFans, and like the last week truly did fly. It seems like yesterday that I woke up on a drizzly Monday morning at five am to go to work, but nope…that was five days ago. Instead tomorrow morning I don’t have to wake up until around half past ten when I need to kit up and get out on the golf course! However as an avid lover of golf even I can say tomorrow isn’t exactly going to be your conventional round of eighteen; in fact it isn’t really going to be golf at all. Tomorrow I’m going to embark in a new game called ‘FootGolf’ and yes it is exactly what it says in the tin. A little bit of a compilation (if you will) of my two favourite sports, football and golf. It’s a pretty simple game really you swap a golf ball for a football and a club for your foot (oh and not to mention the whole is a little bit bigger as well). In true compilation style hows about a little #WonderCompilation

In other #WonderNews Dave is away on holiday (yet again) as him and the family are on a relaxation weekend (or as relaxing as a weekend can be with three and eight year old children). Oli is yet again churning out the relentless #WonderWork this weekend as just like last weekend he is working on something very exciting for you guys to see in the next couple of weeks and if I were to tell you it’s on our brand new website can you keep it a secret? Alex’s is all loved up with a new lady friend of his so I imagine he will be off doing something that includes picnics, vineyards and strawberries. (He will probably phone me as soon as he see’s this and moan at me for giving away his secret) So as you can see #WonderFans this weekend is a little bit indifferent for all four of us, from my merged sports to Alex’s romantic champagne dinner. WonderWeekender 11th-13th April

It’s the weekend and that means it’s time to get your party on!!! It all started yesterday for me and my WonderWAG (Kate) as we celebrated her birthday with a day out at London Zoo...

(the classic "Look this gorilla is in my hand" photo...) Followed by a volcanic rock meal experience(!)...

And then onto the casino to spend some cash!! 

(everyone LOVED playing the #PhotoGame – I got them to line up in order of how much the won/lost... left to right was £21.50 up to £40 down! I was £5 up, but it was getting late, so put it all on red...

Meanwhile Oli’s student loan came in, and everyone knows it’s the rules to spend at least 10% of it the first night! Chris’ celebration will hopefully come later on today, when Arsenal destroy Wigan in the FA cup semi final! I would definitely be able to see the funny side if Arsenal lose! As for Alex, he’s got 6 painful days to wait before his student loan comes in, until then, it’s pasta and rice... I’m sure he’s super happy for the rest of us though!! (check out my Rib-eye steak from last night...)

WonderWeekender 29th/30th April

The sun is out at the weekend for the first time in forever. This is also made that little bit sweeter by the fact that all week whilst at work it has been rather drab (well actually, Chris, being a gardener would trade good weekend weather for good weekday weather every time!). Can anyone actually remember the last time the weather has been this kind? Which leads me to enter you, our trusty #WonderFans, into our (mass) debate of the day… what is your favourite BBQ food and why? This has been the underlined theme of our day so far with many fairly backed arguments, as well as the odd outright blunt negative attitude towards the debate, from Dave’s sweet chilli king prawns to Oli’s 12oz rib eye – it’s clear this one will rumble on for some time to come. And perhaps ironic that we’re discussing it whilst eating pizza (the BBQ's nemesis).

However this is not the full reason we are at HQ on a hot day as opposed to the pub garden. We are really here to make a start on our brand new website (coming soon… Who’s excited?? Responsive design you guys!!) Which means, Chris and Oli trying to put different size objects (!) in their beard, and Dave getting gay for domain names, HTML, photo dimensions, branding, SEO, plug-ins, widgets and servers (yuck!).

#WonderWeekender 15/16th Feb

Firstly, I hope you all had a sweet Valentine’s Day yesterday! Did you manage to catch our video message? http://youtu.be/1IU-E8MQlKw  Valentine’s Day will always be even more special to me as I proposed to my wife on Valentine’s!! Total cheeseballs right? Yeah well I did it so whatevs.

Well I’m writing this morning from #WünderFanβ Thilo and Susanna’s house near Frankfurt. We’re over here hanging out, drinking some beer, eating some schnitzel and on a scouting mission for a potential #WonderTour in Germany in the Autumn!!

We’re quite some way off from packing our bags just yet... But this first step – staking out suitable venues and establishing links with local promoters – is a massively important one!! We’ve got to make sure that when we do get over here, that we’re not supporting some Peruvian flute band!! http://youtu.be/-iX_XwmTCYk

#WonderWeekender

Happy weekend #WonderFans!! The weekend, for me, just makes everything automatically 10% better! I’ll provide examples. The weather here in Luton is ‘a bit rainy’ but as it’s Saturday morning, it’s 10% better than ‘a bit rainy’ on a Monday. Breakfast, same Crunchy Nut Cornflakes but 10% better than on Thursday. I’ll be spending 3 hours driving to and from London today, but that 3 hours in the car will be 10% better than 3 hours in the car on a Tuesday.

The weekend just has a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ right?

With that in mind, I’ve got to do some life admin today – saved it til today because even the most mundane activities (car insurance, letter writing, food shop) are 10% better at the weekend!!

So my Saturday will be all about getting stuff done (I may be able to squeeze in a trip to see the new Lego movie too!) but Sunday is a #WonderDay! Oli’s travelling back late Saturday night (train journeys are 10% better at the weekend) and we’re getting together to eat some food, play some music, plan our EP release (more on that another day!), plan some #PhotoGame activity (suggestions welcome...) and generally have a #WonderTime – which will be 10% better because it’s a weekend!

#WonderWeekender

In The Wondersmiths, we’re all about ‘Work hard – play hard’... And this weekend we are going to be doing just that!

6am Saturday morning, when you’re all tucked up in your beds, fast asleep, and dreaming about some friends from back in school, your boss at work and your Grandma partying together on a boat made out of jelly, whilst you’re trying to revise for a test that you sat 4 years ago... We shall be making our way to the woods at Sharpenhoe Clappers to film our music video for ‘Insignificant’!

It’s going to be cold, but we know that #WonderTime is the best time – intensified by the addition of husband and wife filmmakers Sarah and Ian White, along with Oli’s ‘roady’ dad #PapaJohn Franklin!

Chris and I got together a few weeks ago to write a story board:

But we’re happy to see what we can come up with on the day, apparently #Pulp’s #JarvisCocker only choreographed his infamous dance to ‘Common People’ on the day

...and if it’s alright for him, it’s alright for us!

Looking forward to showing you a few stills from the shoot REAL SOON!!

Following on from our early start, we’re looking towards a late finish: headlining Go Bowling in Dunstable for Spark Entertainment’s first show of the year.

We’ve never played at a bowling alley before, and I gotta admit, after the gig, I am most looking forward to playing in the arcade and drinking a blue Slush Puppie!!
