based hagelslag share your oppinions on the recent elections
I like politics but I’m very bad with words so I’ll try:
The outcome is very interesting. It shows how much of a schism there actually is between the people and the body that governs them. The peoples’ interests are vastly different from what the government wants, and it shows.
I think that a lot of people voted for FvD just to make that point. It’s not like they had any other way to show their disagreement with the current state of things since talking about it is such a taboo that will net you a spot on a shit list.
People are finally forced to deliberate, to discuss and talk about their opinions regarding the current political climate. Something that wasn’t really possible before all this, as people with the ‘wrong’ opinions always got shot down by bleeding hearts. Completely disregarded, publicly made fun of. “I will not listen to you, because you are a [racist/nazi/hater/fascist/whatever]” is no longer a viable tactic to shut people down, because by the bleeding hearts’ logic, the majority of the country is now literally Hitler.
I think that people should be listened to, rather than getting shunned for wrongthink because some people might not like their opinions, and I do believe that these elections open a lot of doors to political discussion, in a good way. People can’t get away with calling others terrible people without provoking a conversation as to why, and I believe that this is a very good thing. Leave the echo chamber and talk to each other!
If the parties aren’t going to act like actual 5-year old toddlers this time, and actually fucking listen and deliberate instead of ‘weh weh I don’t WANT to work with that poopoo party!’ (this shit has actually happened before), I think that as a country the Netherlands will become better and stronger in the long run.We need the right to address the current immigration issues etc.We need the left to address climate change etc.
I sincerely hope now that the initial shock is over, people will be more open for discussion without hostility and moral grandstanding, now that the idea of the majority of this country being very, very left has been shattered to pieces.
t;ldr just listen to each other you fucking morons
