lavender: what is the most important thing to you as a writer?

That I take the reader on a journey that’s compelling and moves them. If it sticks with them after they’re finished reading, even better!

gardenia: what is the setting in which you write best?

A quiet, unoccupied space without much noise, distractions, or other people present.

dahlia: what time of day/night is best for you to write?

It fluctuates, but for a while now it’s been in the mornings and early afternoons. I find nowadays that, in the evenings, I need to unwind doing something other than writing aka that doesn’t require a lot of brain stimulation.

1. We are both

This was basically the episode where I went from “shipping” to complete OTP territory. I don’t know if many people remember this but back then, people in the show feared Rumplestistskin. Like, legitimatelly, he showed up and they got this weary feeling at best that never left them during their encounters with him. Regina on the other hand at first is a bit ambilavent and apprehensive but when he comes near her, instead of recoiling, she leans forward, she gets drawn. To a man who at first she described as “what”, she meets for the first time ever and when he puts his hands on her face she..surrenders to his touch instead of being creeped out. She hears him say that “they belong together” (again, he’s a stranger to her) and she gets intrigued instead of scared af.

2. Ariel

This little moment elevates this scene to perfection (#MarriedAF). She is so familiar with him and low key so pissed off into seeing him being a whimpering lovestruck fool for Belle that he would actually fall for Pan’s games, that she squats him. And he takes it! Instead of being snarky and pissy and you know, pull off the regular asshole facade he pulls with everyone else, he listens to her and accepts everything she says. She motivated him into finding another solution instead of being on a suicide mission in seconds AND they came up with a plan and actual results within an episode. Plus: “I need you, I need Rumplestiltskin”, “There’s my malevolent imp”, “You’re not going to die at anyone hands but my own”

3. Dark Waters

I could put the whole season six in this *lol* But kidding aside, their first kiss -even with only a part of hers- will always be special to me. This was the time she actually made the first step. She fully acknowledged what she wanted, no games (well, minimal games) and she just mustered the courage and went for it. She dressed up in pure gold, confirming my headcanon that she used to dress up and primp up for him AND that their outfits are coordinated/match for a reason, always. The kiss itself was a revelation (indicated by the lighting that fell on her face after that point as well), she broke her facade and revealed her true emotions she had held up all this time (them being pure in the form of the Queen because Regina was repressing them). The way she savored him and tasted him, the need she displayed, the way she held him close even after he broke the kiss as if she was afraid it wasn’t real… Even he was sucked in that kiss, this intensity drew him in and caught him by surprise. I could watch it for ever.

Least favorite

1. Mother

I’ve talked about that scene a lot of times, it’s the scene where Regina leaves him to die basically. The way it was shot irritates me, I find it way too rushed AND it still irritates me that in season 4 the narrative had framed Regina as a HeroTM and noone in canon noticed that her behavior wasn’t exactly “heroic” but instead it was justified under the cape of “heroism”. I’m not so much irritated by the action per se. It’s just that it could have been shot differently.

2. Operation Mongoose

That little slashing in the AU. Mainly because Rumple just dissapears? I mean what the hell? And isn’t he supposed to be the Hero in that AU, shouldn’t we see his reactions over this? Season 4 was so rushed, even that beautiful car scene in “Heroes and Villains” was rushed. So unfair.

3. I think every scene that comes after 6x09 until further notice *lol* Okay, I’m being serious. I’m sure that I won’t like them being so hostile with each other like they were in the last scene of “Changellings”, not because I don’t get them or it’s OOC or anything like that. It’s just that I think that both of them are partly not themselves right now and it pains me to see them in a Catch 22 situation without any indication on how long it will last and how severe the consequences will be from this. Because I know they can be better than this and so much more.
