Observations from the Woolhaven trailer:

Hot spring/bath, plus a furnace or heater sort of buildings? Possibly to help the followers stay warm in the blizzards

This appears to be a Barn(?) of some sort, I'm assuming. With ropes stemming from it to mark off an area and a grass trough(?) nearby, I'll assume this to be a place where cattle and beasties are kept

Not sure what this building is. Appears to have some sort of billboard with paper tacked to it, maybe flyers or missions of some sort. Wondering if this has anything to do with missionaries or the jobs you give your followers, or maybe a new mechanic entirely.

Work building??? There's an image of tools on the front, and I see rocks and wood stored to the side. Are we making tools for followers? Or is this another building to produce a specific material we need in order to build certain things, like the refinery does?

WOLF GOD STATUE AND WOLD ENEMIES. WINTER BIOME.

THAT...Or possibly winter taking over OTHER biomes, maybe after we (us as the Lamb) triggers an event in game that causes the seasons to start shifting. I don't know if that would be the case but it would add a fun time-reliant aspect to the game.

So we've seen two area biomes, the winter one and this, which is very dark and full of gore. Judging by the chains in the background and the overall aesthetic, this might be?? The Afterlife??? The appearances are very death-coded. Are we going into Narinder's domain?

Edit: OR this is the rot that happens when you redeem a sheep's soul! Which means there are consequences to trying to save the Lamb's souls. Oh Man We Love Pain

A NEW GOD(?): MARCHOSIAS

Well, we already understand that the mountain is where they've made their home, but whether or not that was actually their home to take is up for debate. Especially since we have Yngya, who is seemenly trapped(?) or lost upon the mountain. I wonder if Marchosias has anything to do with that, or our former bishops did.

Also, this guy doesn't have a crown, which I wonder if it makes them a god at all.

Last but not least: Yngyna, The God of the Lambs

They appear to be wearing a crown we've never seen before. The symbols on them ressemble snowflakes, and considering they are mentioned in the lore of the game that when they are gone (asleep or dead, not sure) that the seasons no longer change, it comes to wonder if this is a god that is not just of Lambs but of winter, or seasons in general. In that case, would it make lore sense that the Lambs worshiped the seasons? They would worship winter? Or is it a side thing?

Who is this god, anyway? Were they a sheep those acended to godhood just as our main protagonist? Were they created that way, already a god for the sheep population of this earth? Or is that information we're left to speculate on our own?

Considering that seasons are returning, and the trailers showing the frozen oceans and the map expanding, I'd like to think that OUR Lamb, with their power of ressurection, is essentially being called to revive this dead god. Or at the least, wake them from the slumber theyre trapped in, in a mission to bring back the Lambs. But how would Ygnya feel about a new Lamb god? OUR Lamb god, God of Death.

SO... WOOLHAVEN... I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS. (I also talk about my AU a bit.)

The animated part of the trailer made me lose my mind since it SOMEWHAT aligns with my Deadlocked AU. So I felt like dropping a little bit of lore about it. (finally.)

Despite the little lore I have showcased so far about my Lamb - I'm sure that it is obvious that my Lamb's bell is very important to them. But it is silent. It is silent for a reason.

In Deadlocked, when the genocide was ongoing, hunters would use bells from martyred sheep to lure others to their demise. After learning about this, the hidden sheep silenced their bells by stuffing dirt and grass into them. But of course, that didn't stop the genocide. They could've gotten rid of their bells but it is a huge part of their culture. Every bell is different, a sheep's bell is a piece of their soul, their bells are what make them sheep.

After the fight in hell with Narinder, my Lamb chose to silence their bell with the help of the crown. The bell's pellet is in the crown's eye, hence why it is yellow. The constant ringing reminded them of what they lost and what they never had.

But that's just my au.

LOOKING AT THE DLC TRAILER AND IMMEDIATELY SEEING THE LAMB'S BELL GLOW AND FLOAT TOWARDS THE MOUNTAIN??? AND WHAT DOES THE BELL LEAD THEM TO?

The bell lead them to their home, their culture, what remains of sheep-kind, their past, their trauma, their grief, THE GOD OF THE LAMBS, EVERYTHING.

I KNEW THEIR BELL WOULD BE SIGNIFICANT. I KNEW IT.

AND THEN THIS????

AND NOW LOOK AT MY LAMB'S BELL.

I. SCREAMED. The red rot from Yngya's bell? The red veins on my lamb's bell???

I PROPHESIED THAT SHIT!

Other than that THE VOCALS ARE SO GOOD. I got goosebumps! UGH I love the music in this game. (Rest in Peace Riverboy💙)

AND GHOST SHEEP?? AAAAAAAAAAA!!

Now we're left with so many questions! Like what happened with Yngya? Why is was their heart frozen? Why is it ROTTED? WHAT IS THE ROT? What are those creatures that came from the rot? Are they corrupted sheep or what?? WHY DOES THE LAMB'S CLOAK LOOK SO MUCH LIKE YNGYA'S??????

I. AM. SO. EXCITED.

And I just talked about the animated part of the trailer. I'll update this post if I ever make a part two talking about the gameplay and steam page. But at the VERY END of the trailer where we see the different ghost sheep? I have to draw all of them. ESPECIALLY THESE TWO.

THE LORE IS ABOUT TO GO CRAZY!!! EVERYONE'S AU'S EVEN CRAZIER! ME? I'M GOING INSANE!!!

Regarding the new Wool Haven update for COTL, I have seen some people stress about the canon lore affecting or it messing up their own story (and I have seen this happen when the canon personality of Goat was revealed as well) and I just want to say,

You don't have to follow the canon lore 100 to 100 percent. It's ok if the characters or the story is diffrent, it's your own au or story you are making up for yourself anyways. Keeping your interpretation of lore and characters creates diversity and it makes things interesting! If people say "That's not how it is in the game" you can just reply with "Yes and this is my version of things." the ones who like your version will stay with you.

And it's also completely fine to want to match with the story as well. If that is the case then don't be afraid to change your own canon and lore to fit the games ongoing story. It can be fun to change little things or completely rearrange everything because it gets the brain noggin working super hard! If someone says "Your story wasn't like this before." you can just say "Yes and I decided to change things." if they don't like it because of the changes, that is fine, just keep creating and let your art speak for itself.

I personally like embracing both. Following the games lore while changing things completely to fit into my medieval fantasy au!

It's all a "what if?" anyways so its fun to imagine multiple diffrent and similar scenarios!

I think we should all draw our Lamb-Sonas as ghosts together in a big collab. do you know how cool that would be

Now thinking if the wolf Marchosias's connection to the Ygnya, if they knew each other

Do they know each other at all? Were they friends? Foes?

Marchosias doesn't have a crown but seems to hold a position of power in the mountain, home of the Lambs, so maybe a disciple to Ygnya? Perhaps the watch-dog?

Marchosias appears to be an encounter in a crusade, perhaps to give us a powerup or items, so we probably won't end up fighting them as a boss or enemy. Maybe a failed watch-dog that should have protected the sheep, or someone who lived among sheep (wolf-in-sheep's clothing) that later had a role into the sheep's downfall.

Maybe they're not tied to Ygnya at all, but I think it would be interesting if these two knew each other

One thing I wanna note in the trailer. I don’t think this place is the original home of all lambs. Why? Because I noticed among the lamb ghosts some look to be wearing different cultural outfits. I think some lambs come from this place, but I also think this place was the last safe haven for lambs and when the bishops started killing them all, the survivors came to this place to hide. Maybe the rot killed them or the bishops killed them or something else! Thoughts?

It's way too early for me to speculate but I like this theory! If this comes back to be true I'm gonna reblog this and hail you for predicting it

We know from the comics with Jalala that there are other places outside The Lands of The Old Faith, so I need to know if there is anything Out There that's' going to change? Are we going to get the ability to hop on a ship and explore as well? Where did the Lambs originally come from if they're not from that home?
