I'm having brutal luck this week. In the last couple months when I've had free time there have hardly been any concerts that I've wanted to go to.  But now that this week is off limits from doing anything fun in order to pass my torturous accounting exam, all of the awesome concerts are happening.  I couldn't go see Alex Clare yesterday which was so hard because I've been waiting a year and a half for him to come to Canada.  And now I've just found out that Wool on Wolves are playing right in my town on Thursday night, the night before my exam.  

In case you haven't heard of Wool on Wolves, you should know that you're missing out.  They're a Canadian band and I first discovered them on Balcony TV.  Just listen for yourself to their song Inside The Light. Trust me, it's better than having to read my whining.

"Midnight Avenue" is from Wool on Wolves' sophomore LP Measures of Progress. The band, engineer Nik Kozub (Shout Out Out Out Out), and producer Paul Arnusch (Faunts, the Whitsundays) left no stone unturned in creating a dense and meticulous album with a bold artistic vision. Lyrically, Measures of Progress reflects on the modern world while exploring timeless themes of struggle, disillusionment, and maturation. Sonically, the band continues to innovate as they experiment with new tones, recording techniques, and complex song structures.

Wool on Wolves have released a video for their new song "Midnight Avenue." It's ahead of their sophomore album Measures of Progress, out on November 13th. Directed by aAron Munson, the video was filmed in Edmonton with a lot of help from the community, AND sparklers. The band is also heading out on a Canadian tour with the Great Bloomers, so try and catch 'em live!
