Garden friends from the last few days
opinion on bugs?
Bugs are animals and I love animals so I love bugs!
I'm actually really proud of the progress I've made to intentionally conquer my intense childhood fear. I used to be petrified of them like, screaming-crying running away and avoiding going outdoors at the mere thought of running into an insect kind of petrified. My conditioned fears and fascination for the natural world were at constant odds.
It took the conscious choice for me in adulthood to change my gut-reaction from fear to curiosity / appreciation. I'm not sure when this epiphany happened but it was only within the past few years. I had been terrified of 99% bugs for the majority of my current life.
All that being said, my overall opinion is we share this world with bugs and we should respect that relationship by supporting environmental protections and avoiding needless cruelty (looking at you mosquito torture tiktok. go fuck yourself)

Caterpillar Friend - MN, USA:
Hello, yes, this is most def the caterpillar of an Isabella Tiger Moth (Pyrrharctia isabella), family Erebidae, sometimes called a Red-banded Wooly Bear. It appears to either be dead or ready to pupate (enter the pupa stage).
