Freak
(This is a hc ask!!)
I won't lie, I thought you were calling me a freak and it made me crackle like a mad man!
The way i know your art is how you color the subjects? There's a sunny or rainy/gloomy lighting over them that's just YOU. I dunno how to explain it beyond that.
Adfjahdhajd
*the lighting stuff??*
Man y'all are picking out things I never would have even thought about.
Paris - Day Eleven
The last whole day in Paris...
We started out our morning with eating breakfast, reading and drinking tea. It started to progressively rain more and more outside and the sky soon showed a fantastic display of lightning and thunder. We continued drinking our tea and played some jazz music through my Bluetooth speaker. Our morning lingered on. I played games on my mobile phone and we also brought forward playing cards. We carried on in this manner until lunch. We cooked some pasta with pesto and added our can of lentils (Of course. How could we not after having them for every single day since arriving?).
After an elaborate debate we decided to head for Musée Rodin. Amazing to see Rodin’s many sculptures, especially how he could make usually stiff and rough materials look fluid and full of motion. The museum could be split into two parts, the house in which Auguste Rodin once had lived and the sculpture garden surrounding it. We started walking the tour inside the house and continued out to the garden. And guess what? OVERWHELMING HEAT. The sun burned down on us, so we tried to hide under the trees as much as we could. We were overjoyed to find that the small cafe in the garden also served ice cream. Despite the slight disappointment of a very small serving for a high price, the ice cream was delicious and had the desirable cooling effect. The garden was very impressive and nice to walk through. It was a nice change of museum environment as it didn’t get very crowded even though a lot of people were visiting. We left in high spirits after our quite restless morning and we walked to the post office to send our post cards to our families. We bought sandwiches and water as we made our way to Musée de l’Armée, which very conveniently was right next to Musée Rodin. However, we arrived 30 minutes before closing... Surprisingly, this half hour turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. We ran to the closest exhibition, which displayed assorted armours, guns, and swords. We walked (read: ran) through the exhibition and tried to see as much as we possibly could. Musée de l’Armée still feels unexplored and like an unresolved issue and will probably, together with the painting ‘Napoleon at the Saint-Bernard Pass’ be the main reason to why we need to return to Paris someday. The museum was connected to Dôme des Invalides which luckily for us was open an extra hour. The dome holds several tombs of French war heroes, most notably probably Napoléon Bonaparte. His tomb was, to say the least, impressive. However, I thought that the surrounding tombs had a much more powerful display together with coloured glass which left me with a deeper impression. There was also a huge altar in the center front of the dome, clad almost in all gold which once again was highlighted through stained glass windows in the colour yellow, you can probably imagine the effect.
After Musée de l’Armée, we took the metro to l’Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile because I had to get a bit better view than what I’d had from the bus. I took a few picture and we admired the view of the structure and also the massive crowd of tourists. We walked down to the metro again and rode it across the Seine to once again visit the crêpe restaurant Tis Jos. I enjoyed a crêpe with cheese and a French sausage that I admittedly do not remember the name of. For dessert (even though we were pretty full after one crêpe already...) I ordered a crêpe with apples, Tis Jos’s own caramel sauce and salted butter. I was clearly planning on rolling my way home.
We succeeded in lifting ourselves from our chairs and walked home to enjoy our last evening to the fullest. Perfectly timed, the sunset was especially pretty and we were both rather sad that our vacation soon was ending. When we got home we snacked on some chips that we still had left, packed our things and read before going to sleep.
