Getting League models from your league folder

for the anon that asked

ok so this will help you get the league models from the current league client, if you want to use the PBE you have to do something a little extra, I can add that in later if you want. 

Hope it helps, message me if i’ve missed anything 

Things you’ll need Wooxy (don’t worry about it saying it isn’t supported anymore, that’s for custom skins) Obsidian (To open up .wad files) Something that can open OBJ folders (I use maya because I have a student license) something that can open up .dds files (photoshop preferably)

1. Wooxy setup

Once you’ve downloaded wooxy, extract the files and then open up wooxy, set your lang and get your league folder.

2. Extracting files

Tick the box of the champion you want, not the file (it’ll extract everything inside the file), and then press extract

Then find a folder to have all your champion bits in, and untick keep the original game paths, just makes the path to it shorter (doesn’t really matter) and hit extract.

3. Obsidian

In obsidian, file > open, then find your .wad file. When you’ve opened it, obsidian will automatically show you the files within the .wad file, should look like this

I don’t know how to differentiate between things because their names are just random numbers.

 Then go to File > export all, and choose where you want all these files to go. once you’ve done this you can close obsidian. 

4. exporting objs

This is what your folder should look like after exporting from obsidian. 

To get the models, open up wooxy again and open the model viewer

It’ll open up a window, under model file click browse. the path to find the .skn files is: ASSETS > Characters > the champion (there might be others in here) > skins. 

Open the file you want and open up the .skn file in there. 

It doesn’t matter if you apply a texture or not as you can just apply the texture with your 3d modelling program (maya/blender), click view and it’ll show something like this. 

click export, export it as a wavefront obj and you’re done. 

Maya ( make sure you have flat lighting on when you’re viewing the model   )

-texturing problems

Idk if this happens in other programs but for some models that have textures that are slightly transparent or transparent (Aurelion Sol), your model will look all janky once you’ve placed a texture. 

If this happens, just open up the .dds file in photoshop and then save the file as a PSD and apply the psd texture instead. Png works sometimes? idk why.

If the new texture doesn’t work you probably haven’t cut the connection between the transparency/colour with the model. break these connections (right click on colour/transparency in the material attribute) and try adding the texture on again
