Some of you will one day be left to rule your country, or left ruling another country with a betrothed. Others are simply spares, perhaps with ideas that can never be heard. And further yet, some of you will never have the privilege (or burden) of ruling a country so your thoughts, ideas, and visions are just that. Thoughts, ideas, and visions. But what will things be like when you’re in charge? Or what would things be like if you were able to rule the country you’re from?

This task gives you the chance to think about that. Crown royals and those betrothed to crowns, you can now put your ideas in writing, the ideas that will one day shape nations. For everyone else, you get the chance to be creative, to think about how you’d do things in the future based on your experiences as someone who never grew up thinking they’d rule.

You’re free to take on this task however you like, sticking to the topics you find most important. But, if you’re stuck, here are some prompts!

Would you change the way etiquette is handled in your own kingdom?

WOR.Task001 Home Is Where The Heart Is, A Foreign Concept Now

A modern take on an art deco theme, Amir’s room is a gracious blending of light walls, accented in black and gold. The area boasts a comfortable and inviting seating area, wall of books, walk-in closet, full bar, and luxurious bed. The spacious area sports vaulted ceilings with an adjoined bathroom tiled in marble set with both a walk-in shower and large Jacuzzi tub. The room pays homage in decor to his taste, color to his heritage and stature, and luxuriousness to his occasional hedonistic tendencies.

WOR Task 003. Palace Profile.

BASICS

Full Name: Giovanni Angleo Di Marco Pronunciation: Jee-oh-vah-nee  Aliases, if any: Gio Date of Birth: September 1st 2094 Age: 25 Gender: Male Nationality: Italian Religion, if applicable: Roman Catholic. He goes to confession on occasion when something heavy is weighing on his mind and he goes to church on certain holidays but his faith is more of a private thing for him. Mostly because he knows he’s not a good Catholic. Parents’ names: Father - Fausta Di Marco , Mother - Briella DI Marco Siblings: One older sister (aged 31), Two older brothers (aged 27 and 29) Current relationship status: Single Previous relationships: He’s never really been in a full on relationship, at least not anything he considers one. He’s had a fling with Kamaria of South Africa but it was more of a series of hooks ups over the years whenever they ended up in the same place during their travels. When he was a teenager he got close to someone during school but it fizzled out after Antonio died and he pushed her away. He refuses to count it as a relationship even if most would consider it to be.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Piercings: None Typical clothing style: Most of the time when people see him he’s wearing the palace uniform but on his days off he’s usually seen in casual attire such as chinos and a nice sweater/t-shirt depending on the weather. Every now and then he’ll throw his leather jacket over a hoodie and wear whatever jeans are clean whenever he’s heading to the village as an escape. Distinguishing features (scars, birthmarks, freckles, etc): Funnily enough he has a lightning shaped scar in the middle of his forehead that was more pronounced when he was younger. It resulted in a lot of people comparing him to Harry Potter which might be a big reason as to why he became a Potter nerd. HEALTH

Health issues or illnesses, if any: He’s been pretty healthy throughout his lifetime. Allergies, if any: He’s allergic to cats but he doesn’t care. He’ll hold one all day even when his throat is getting scratchy and he’s getting a rash. Exercise habits: He’s in the gym every day and he runs at least four times a week at a minimum. The gym is one of his favorite places to be. It’s basically his sanctuary. It’a good thing as he gets to make up for his eating habits. Dietary habits: He eats anything and everything. Gio likes to pretend he’s a healthy guy and he is for the most part but his weakness is food. The boy loves to eat and loves to eat any kind of food you’ll put in front of him. He hasn’t met a food he doesn’t like and he’s pretty sure he never will.

PERSONALITY

Accent: His accent has gotten much better since coming to Khatanga and having to speak English more than his native language. It’s still there just not very heavy to where you can’t understand him. It’s pretty clear what country he’s from when he speaks, though.  Speech style: Boy doesn’t know what formal speaking is. He’s also a fast talker especially when he’s excited about something. That would mostly be the reason he’s not understood sometimes but he doesn’t much care. And he’s a rambler, talking about anything and everything that doesn’t matter. Most used word or phrase: “I’m kidding” or “Don’t look at me like that, it was a joke.” Do they curse?: Yes. He tries not to be crude in front of the Royals but most of the time it either slips out or he just doesn’t care anymore. Any secrets? Most of his life is a secret. He talks about his family a lot and being in the army and that’s about as personal as he gets. Top priority/ies: He doesn’t have any priorities other than keeping himself from getting hurt. I guess you could say his goal is to stay lonely but he wouldn’t put it that way. He calls it ‘keeping people at a distance.’ But we all know it’s called loneliness. Future goals might include talking out his issues with a professional and actually moving on from Antonio’s death while trying to stop blaming himself. But that would require him to actually admit he hasn’t moved on. Most treasured possession: There was a bracelet that Antonio used to wear all the time that he keeps hidden away in his things. Also a picture of his family that’s tucked away in a drawer of his clothing. Addictions, if any: Some would say sex but it’s not so much an addiction as something he enjoys to do a lot. He can control himself if he needs to. Phobias: He’s afraid his family wont welcome him back home when he leaves the Fortress. Compulsions/ habits: Biting his lip when he flirts, pressing them together when he’s trying not to laugh at something. Allergies, if any: Hazelnuts Exercise habits: Most of his exercise usually comes from swimming, something he’s enjoyed since he was a kid, but lately he’s been working out in the gym and favoring the punching bag and free weights.  Dietary habits: He tried being a vegetarian for a little while when Kat took it up but ultimately went back to eating meat when protein supplements didn’t seem to be enough for him. He’s not really picky about anything he eats but he wouldn’t be seen eating sweets very often. He prefers a salty treat whenever he wants a snack that veers from his regular eating habits.

PERSONALITY

Accent: His Dutch accent isn’t as thick as it used to be since he went to college and mixed in with others from around the world. It’s still pretty noticeable but he’s easier to understand when he’s speaking other languages. Speech style: He’s careful with his words, often choosing to pause so he can think of what needs to be said before just blurting anything out. When he gets nervous is when he speaks quickly and just says whatever comes to mind. Most used word or phrase: “Honestly” and “Is there anything I can do to help?” He says them all the time. Do they curse?: Only the occasional ‘damn’ but other than that he’s got a pretty clean vocabulary unless he’s drunk. Any secrets? His past relationship with a villager. His tryst with a Meijer personal guard that caused the loss of his betrothal is a major one with no one knowing who it was her he had cheated on Maggie with at this point. This cheating resulting in a daughter that he has no idea exists (so not really a secret yet?). His resentment of Kat for being able to just live her life and be herself.
