She’s certainly curious now, dark brows furrowing in arising curiosity. Did he know about her, about her past? It’s something she’s tried concealing for quite some time now; smiling usually helped; staying cheerful. It all helped concealed those nights she still wakes up screaming from, or the times she remembers the worse occurrences and finds herself sitting atop her bed, knee’s hugged close to her chest as the only sound is her sobs.  Gentle smile arises on her features, allowing cheek to rest upon an open palm. “I mean, I’m perfectly ok now, really!”

Arrie was mid-shapeshifting when the comment was made, but she still took a moment to glare at Jaérith and give a sharp fanged hiss to express her displeasure. It wasn’t her fault she didn’t think their captors were stupid enough to not bind her with magical chains or something of the like. And besides, she knew close to nothing about the current planet or universe the duo had found themselves stuck in. It didn’t help that Jaérith spoke in nothing but sarcasm to every question she had, even when blood was rushing to his head from being hung upside down.

God, why did she keep getting into these situations with this pain in the ass of a person?

‘Grab onto the chain and don’t fucking move your hands,’ Arrie instructed telepathically whilst hanging off the chains that once held her, her form now that of a strange serpentine creature. ‘I’m going to bite the lock off.’

Arrie gave John a quizzical look, almost as if she didn’t believe his words. It really wasn’t THAT cold... But once again, she had to remind herself that she grew up in MUCH colder climates, and thus couldn’t hold it against him. 

“I have a couple of jackets at home that might fit you if you need them,” she offered. “My place isn’t too far from here anyways.”

Between dealing with a blackmailer, running all over the place to make sure her family and friends were okay, and dealing with her own demons coming back to haunt her, the LAST thing Arelette could predict happening was getting words of reassurance from a Thranduil lookalike. In all honesty though, she’s experienced weird things many times before, to the point where part of her felt like she should have expected this.

“Yeah, that’s one way of putting it,” she scoffed, mainly to herself. “But, I... Thank you. Really.”

“You make it sound like it’s EASY to do while I’m dealing with people trying to KILL US!”  the shapeshifter protested, jumping over a group of barrels and pulling Jaérith up along with her before kicking them down to slow their pursuers.  “Now unless YOU have a better plan to deal with the water AND the assholes, start RUNNING!”

YES ! mio has a fear of birds as well as a fear of deep waters and a fear of being abandoned ( i wouldnt neccessarily call this one irrational but its one of the big ones ) . the first two dont neccessarily stem from any kind of trauma which is why i might consider them more irrational than the latter .
