All our shopping was online. It’s really the only way to shop
honestly it is, because traffic around all the strip malls we have only gets worse from today until the new year.
but then i also feel back for the increase of packages that the postal service has to deal with. it’s kind of a catch-22.
ME Drabble Prompt: Reyes/Ryder dialogue c) “You’ll never guess what I saw.”
The door to the VIP room at Tartarus opened and Reyes was half-way towards his pistol when he glanced up to see Ryder standing in the doorway. Leaning back he smiled, “What brings you back from the Badlands so soon? I thought you were going to be gone at least a week.”
“You’ll never guess what I saw.” Ryder said while moving fully into the room and setting her helmet on one of the chairs.
“Hmm…let me guess; clean water.” Reyes replied, watching Ryder slowly take off her armor until she was in just her usual tank top and shorts. “Or perhaps more wildlife that’s determined to kill you.”
Stepping over an arm brace and moving towards him, Ryder gave Reyes a slow smile. “We were going after the Remnant Architect. A real fucking piece of work like the one on Eos.”
“Really?” Reyes replied, pretending to not know where this was going. By this point Ryder was practically in his lap and he had to restrain himself from simply pulling her the rest of the way. “Well at least you know how to handle one.”
“But that’s not the whole story.” Ryder trailed a finger up Reyes’s arm and ignored the shiver the warm leather sent across her body. “There was a Breacher that I didn’t see. Almost got me except for this incredable shot someone pulled off.”
“Is that so? Well you certainly are lucky.”
“SAM said the shot came from the cliff nearby. And there’s only one shady bastard that I know of that would risk watching the Pathfinder fight an Architect.” Ryder hummed as she leaned in closer. “And I plan to show how grateful I am.”
“I can live with that.” Reyes finally gave into temptation and wrapped his hands around Ryder’s hips while pulling her in for a heated kiss.
So this is turning into more than I thought. I already got 500 words. What the hell?

NaNo check in! Hows it going for you? I went crazy and started over cause I hated everything about yesterday's writing. Switching POVs really helped me get in the right mood for the story.

I should preface this with that I'm sort of doing NaNo, not the full 50k but writing each day for a prompt challenge and Secret Santa fill.
I wrote some yesterday but kept deleting what I had written because it just didn't sound right for the characters.
I need to start on the Secret Santa fill though...
