Honestly i ot4 ship izaya shizuo celty and shinra but it has to be like this

shizaya brainrot still: things that i like in shizaya fics, and things that i try very hard to include into the fics i write, is that they unknowingly learn a bunch of things from each other just by spending more time together, and find that their quality of life is improving greatly lmao

in particular i am tickled when in fics shizuo starts to pick up izaya’s vocabulary, or when izaya in frustration teaches shizuo temper management techniques and challenges shizuo by asking him “cant you even manage that?” and out of spite shizuo does what he’s taught and finds that it works

in turn i like when, unknowingly, izaya starts becoming more impulsive in the things that he does because shizuo does it all the time. being on the observing side of shizuo’s insanity instead of the receiving end gives him a perspective he hadn’t thought about due to his previous tunnel vision of hating shizuo lol. whats the point of a wild card if he knows what the wild card is going to do?

personal headcanon is  that shiki actually does care for izaya--- despite knowing what a pain izaya can be, he’s also reliable and hard working which shiki has begrudgingly come to admire. i think that he has a bit of a soft spot, which is why in the fuckin,,,,, izaya novels when shiki is interviewed, all shiki says is “ill forgive him but he has to promise not to set foot in ikebukuro ever again” and considering he’s yakuza and considering the shit that happened because of izaya (and shiki’s suspicion that izaya was involved with akane’s disappearance) is actually pretty forgiving
