Study of 626 stonemason marks reveals how Libya's Gate of Tauchira was built and dates its construction to Ptolemy VIII's reign.

The study documents at least seven lettered work teams and another 14 groups or individuals identified through monograms. Some blocks even carry two marks, showing different workshops worked on the same stone. These carvings preserved far more than names. They recorded the pace of construction, the movement of materials, the structure of the workforce, and the mix of public and private funding behind one of North Africa’s best-preserved Hellenistic gates.

You would think someone who stays in hotels a lot would understand how they work

As in, at 7 pm on an almost sold out night, they would know that getting connecting ANYTHING is a joke, especially a kitchenette. Oh but we held him just that... A kitchenette. 3 of them, actually. For a week. We told him we'd tentatively hold some. Well of course the day he decides he wants them finally, we are screaming busy and GODDAMN IT PEOPLE YOU CAN'T INDEFINITELY HOLD A ROOM WITHOUT PAYMENT. Get your shit together. He had 6 days to figure out what rooms the rest of his crew wanted. All he had to do was phone the desk and communicate with us. Then... Then he has the nerve to get mad that the kitchen units that WERE available, did not have available connecting rooms beside them. After he was told earlier that day that he couldn't get those til NEXT week when we are far less busy. Ug. He also screamed at me one day that he shouldn't have to pay extra for a 3pm C/O (11am is c/o and latest we can give no-charge is 1pm) because "his company is paying thousands of dollars at your hotel." Because apparently when the company is paying that much for rooms, they can't afford an extra $90. Uh huh, sure. I will be so glad when I don't have to see him again. The hockey teams are easier to deal with.

So we're super excited that the Work Programs Office will be having a spot in our school's paper, The Echo! We will be featuring students in their work crews and interviewing them to see what they have learned so far! We hope everyone finds it interesting and enjoys it because we cannot wait!
