WIP whenever~

So I know I got tagged a bit ago by @pinkyjulien and recently by @cybersteal (there may have been a few more I missed dfkjghdfg)

AIGHT. It's not super informative cuz I been working too much, trying to move and had to travel recently for a funeral. So brain's been a moving a lil slow and needs a break... BUT:

Mods:

I have a billion things on the go at any given time. It's like, questionable on when some will get finished. But I do have a silly Prop coming soon. So be on the look out for that. No preview or hints cuz it's intended to be a surprise. But I've been giggling a lot at it in the background.

Writing:

I'm a horrendously slow writer and I work in lil bursts but I've been working a bit more on adding to my lil blip I've thrown together on ao3 for Zayn and Dino. So maybe a lil chapter 3 will be up soon.

As poor lil demisexual Zayn has started to malfunction not knowing what to do with sudden feels he doesn't usually experience. Zayn.exe has stopped responding 👀 But also possibly featuring a very pissed off Dino too.

Art:

I've been def trying to do a lil more art as well, even if it means doing things really really slow in the background. I keep pondering the possibility of offering some form of commission maybe with my lil cartoony style like this cuz I'm pretty good at plopping those things out at a decent pace if I don't try to overkill details. 😂

I wanna be able to get myself a good gaming chair for the new place so I can have something better for me than a shitty kitchen chair and flattened cushion. So the money would probs go to that if I do.

Julian was most beautiful in the light of the setting sun. Gold light illuminated the gold in his eyes, the gold tint in his skin. In the low light, his black hair was even darker, a beautiful contrast to practically glowing skin. Sweat shone on his brow when he worked to light the fire, he laughed at some joke of Isabela’s and his eyes crinkled, his smile so bright that Fenris had to look away. 

He felt prying eyes on him, turning in irritation he found Merrill, "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" 

“You’re in love,” Merrill sighed. 

Old habits died hard. “I am not,” he snapped.

“You keep looking at Hawke with sad puppy eyes everytime his back is turned.”

He sighed. He was not sure if anyone was supposed to know that he and Hawke were back together. Anders knew, of course, but he was more and more a ghost as of late. Bela and Varric at least suspected, considering their prodding. Yet, Hawke had never said that he wanted others to know. And Fenris was hesitant to say anything about it. He doubted Hawke would be ashamed of him… and yet… the last thing Hawke’s reputation needed was the knowledge that he was sharing his bed with a fugitive elf from Tevinter. 

“There are no puppy eyes,” he grumbled, walking off into the sparse trees to find more sticks. 

Merrill, as was her character, followed him unperturbed, “It’s all right, you know. Even you can be happy once and a while. It won’t kill you. But your face might crack if you smile, so be careful.”

He couldn’t help himself, he chuckled, handing her a bundle of sticks he’d collected, “I am as happy as I have ever been. Now, if you’re going to follow me around making comments, at least hold some of the firewood.” 

She giggled, assisting him, “I see the appeal, he is very handsome in that big, hairy human way.”

In the year since those events, the mood over the estate had subtly shifted and not for the better. The discovery that Dorotsech, one of the other top scientists, had apparently escaped from the compound meant that even greater scrutiny was placed on the prisoners. The indignities Ismar and the others had suffered infuriated her even more than anything she had been subjected to up to that point. Morale, such as it had ever been, had plummeted. A sense of fatalism had risen to take its place. Defections among Grathan’s followers – and escape attempts by his slaves – had climbed. Ismar had heard the rumors; some claimed that Lord Grathan had already fled, abandoning his followers and slaves to their fate. Others claimed he had been killed, and that his wife and son were conducting a mummer’s farce from behind a mask. Ismar thought that story absurd, but for whatever reason, there was a notable leadership gap in the compound she hadn’t felt before. Regardless of the cause, people could see the writing on the wall. Whatever protections that had discouraged the Empire from unleashing its full might upon this blight on its own capital world were clearly starting to fall.

I'm not sure this will ever be completed and see the light of day, but here's Arcann struggling to make tea for himself the day after he joins the Alliance (and Fane pretending he isn't watching him like a hawk).

He turns left into a smaller hallway, passes the entry hatch and the empty droid dock before the walls open up and the ceiling rises into the main hold.

The faint clunk of a mug being set down nearly makes him jump. Instead he turns sharply to find the commander leaning against the counter in the small kitchenette, absentmindedly dunking a tea bag in a cup as he studies a datapad. He doesn’t look up at Arcann’s arrival, but he nods toward a kettle still sitting on the stove.

“There’s enough water if you want tea, the bags in the red container are safe for humans.”

Caught off guard, he pauses for a moment before making for the stove. When he got up he didn’t really have a plan for what he was going to do with himself, just that he didn’t want to be trapped in that too quiet room anymore, contemplating his uncertain future.

The water splashes out of the cup when he pours it and he grimaces, wiping it up before opening the indicated container. His grasp on Aurebesh is still tenuous, but even if it wasn’t the tiny lettering on the packets and the unfamiliar terms would still leave him clueless.

“I’ve been told the one with the blue flowers is good.”

When he looks, the commander is still reading his datapad, but he nods his thanks anyways and tries to ignore the heat in his cheeks at being caught flat footed, again.

There’s only three of the blue flower packets left and he plucks one, managing to tear it open without damaging the bag inside. As an emperor, servants had prepared and served him tea, and after Voss he’d occasionally bought it pre-made in bottles, but he’s never made it himself.

He has no idea how long it’s supposed to steep but he dunks the bag the way the commander did when he’d entered the room and when the water has turned a concerning shade of violet, he feels it’s probably enough. Unsurprisingly it has a floral taste when he takes a sip, but there’s a sweet citrus flavor to it as well. Ordinarily he takes his tea with a bit of honey, but the commander was kind enough to let him use what he has and Arcann’s not about to ask him for more.

What I’m working on at the moment is a really self-indulgent fic, it’s more Anora/Celene! Help I can’t stop writing these two! This particular fic will take place in a world state where Anora lost the Fereldan throne, and she’s making an unlikely ally in her attempt to get it back.

Anora paused at the servant’s door for a moment, and readjusted the hood of her traveling cloak tighter around her face, she glanced around worried and suspicious that someone might recognise her. But no one was paying her any attention, the servants busied around her, each was very content to ignore her completely.

That was until a stout man, a baker by the look of the flour down the front of his apron, gave her an interested look. His eyes lingered around her hips, then snapped to her face, “are you lost, Madam?” He spoke Orlesian, although his voice was heavily accented by a Fereldan twang that blunted his words.

‘Madam,’ Anora tried very hard not to cringe at that. Rather she dropped her voice, and stepped a little close, “I’m here to the Empress.”

The baker scoffed at her, then barked out a harsh laugh, “and who the fuck do you think you are? The Queen of Antiva?” He had switched to Trade, so he’d clearly picked something up in her accent, and from the scowl on his face, he almost certainly did not believe she was actually from Antiva.

“Something like that,” Anora muttered under her breath.
