Not until we are lost do we begin to find ourselves. 🥳 Some call it beginning, some call it clarity and some call it an epiphany. I call it getting my whole shit together and if it was easy everyone would do it. The photo on the left was July 2018 in Santa Fe on my 10th wedding anniversary and I was afraid to be a beginner at anything. The photo on the right was April 2019 and I decided 10 months ago that I wasn’t ‘afraid’ of being a beginner anymore. I made a decision to take better care of myself before the last trip to Santa Fe and of course I didn’t start noticing a difference in my whole self right away. I knew I wasn’t giving myself my best; my face and body showed my excess weight and a poorly loved liver function. I wasn’t unhappy and I wasn’t sick; but I knew a healthier way of eating, exercise and no alcohol could improve my triglyceride number (it’s suppose to be under 150) which was 1,321 and my liver function was suffering even though no one and no lab results told me it was. Appearance says a lot. I continue to work on myself every single day and I make myself a priority where I didn’t before. In the photo on the left I was guilty of overthinking every little thing, worrying what others might think, making sure I didn’t rock the boat and in the photo on the right... I am in the simplest form for having let it all go! Overthinking can be the biggest cause for creating unhappiness in us. I keep myself occupied and busy with enjoying the present to keep my mind off things that don’t help me. Gratitude for everything I have that I really want in this life is a mantra I’ve adopted along with giving myself my best! Ps. I love being a beginner now and my triglycerides are still 88 ya’ll!
