Okay so I work at a store, most of the time I am stressed, and lemme tell you somethin, I don’t get paid enough money to have to deal with the rude and ignorant people that decide to take their anger out on me because something didn’t ring up right or GOD FORBID, the sale ended and they didn’t take the time to check when the sale ended.. all I’m saying is that I shouldn’t have to deal with the rude people who come shopping in my store. I’ll tell you another thing though, it’s the small things that make it worth it when working at a store, just today I had a small little girl call me beautiful, and that right there made me smile so much and made me tear up. And then a while back I had an elderly woman ask me to help her scan her stuff when going through the self checkouts, as I’m scanning all of her stuff and helping her out she starts telling me how she had cancer, about how she had hospice coming to her house and that she shouldn’t be out shopping but it needed to be done, and that she had cut her leg pretty bad on a gate, anyways as She’s telling me all this she’s saying how grateful she is that I’m helping her and that it means the world to her that I decided to help her out, mind you this I’m trying not to cry because she’s so sweet, and as she is telling me how much it means to her she starts crying because she’s so happy that I’m helping her, so I finish up scanning her stuff and all while I’m listening to her, I’m saying words of encouragement and positivity, after I put her money in the machine to pay for her groceries, I start putting her groceries into her cart for her, after I get her groceries and put them in her cart she puts her hand on my arm and says,” god bless you, thank you so much for helping me out,” and then she left after that. I’m just saying, it’s the little things that make being a cashier worth it.
