After Horus Work meetings....Zoom and the like.
Ever since Covid happened much of the life we knew changed a heck of a lot. But the one change I want to discuss for now is related to after hours work meetings.
In general work meetings were a must, for most businesses. And yes they provided a great opportunity for those involved in the company to share ideas, catch up and give info on new things happening in the business.
For many these meetings were held after work so as to not clash with in-hours work times and it made sense. Some, I guess were held at the work place. I say some but I think and assume most did. Then there are others which hold it outside the work place, you know like a friendly gathering of sorts.
Covid made another change to work meetings that went from normal in-person face to face to online over the screen. Now, you are right in saying that this is not exactly uncommon in many companies where they have a large employee base spread in different states or countries so Zoo-style is not new. That is the exception.
However the angle I take is when you have a smaller workplace that is much more centralised. Where all of your employees are local hence there isn't a need for video-link ups. Like I said Covid forced this change.
I'm not really big on these Zoom meetings personally having done quite a few of them. Main reason is they are out of work hours. I get these are important of course but at the same time having to worry about work after your allocated time isn't ideal. If there was a day allocated to work meetings or even a few hours before / after work seems more suitable.
I just feel that after finishing your scheduled work time and then going home, you know you can't really un-wind until as you then have to deal with logging online for that work meeting.
Certainly not a fan of it and hope things can revert back to normal.
