A small work story
I'm fucking crying at this person's response to my work story (I work at a Wendy's in Florida, if that justifies this story at all)
I had to explain to someone that when you use private parking you need to pay before you leave.
He simply said “if the boom gate is open you go why would I need to pay”
Sir the CCTV footage that shows the boom gate closing on your car shows a giant sign with parking prices and you were tailgating the last guy.
Humans are so magical in their utter dumbness.
When I worked in retail one of my coworkers had to cashier in the outdoor section one early fall. We devised a game where, instead of saying “nippy” to describe the weather, we would say “nippley.” The person who could get the most customers to agree that the weather was “nippley” before one of our shifts ended won.
As a New Yorker, my first real connection with urban nature came in the form of #pigeons . I actually enjoy them. So yesterday, after I wrapped up an event shoot with Cascade Sotheby’s Realty, I walked over to a plant nursery I’d never been in. As I was browsing, I spied this cast iron pigeon! There was just enough room next to my #gear for it to ride in the seat next to me on the way home 😎📸🦅 He’s now settled on my back porch teasing the cats 😼 // // #workstory #pigeon #bird #urbannature #funstory #youneverknowwhatyoullfind #castiron #gardendecor #gardendecoration #makesmehappy #bringsmejoy #bringsmiles #cute #thinktank #beltsystem #birdsofinstagram #birds (at Pomarius Nursery) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9HwDumBum6/?igshid=16oqmvlthtor8
Me: Yeah I got to be an extra in a random SCAD festival film it was a lot of fun!
Rude Manager: Oh....so it was just a student film?
Me: ...easy holding that baby bunny that is my optimism, Lenny. Don’t wanna fucking crush it, do ya?
Today I made the quint-essencial Pizza Salami from the glistening fat that collects on top of the salami and the brown and black spots all over to the (very) uneven slices. A Masterpiece. Also I learned that it takes me exactly the first three Jojo-Ops to make, bake and slice perfect Garlicbread. Huh... thats interesting.
Multidimensional bagels
So at my job we have a bagel toaster with a rotating track. You put the sliced bagel in, the track moves it toward the back while it toasts, and then it comes down a chute underneath the toaster. Today the two girls I work with didn't hook in the chute, so when the bagel got to the back of the toaster, it fell behind the chute instead of onto it. I watched both of them search for this bagel like it had fallen into another dimension. Like it wasn't clear that the bagel couldn't have gone anywhere else. Like the bagel had missed the chute and rolled out the door. So, when I told them to look behind the chute they both had this look of awe like I knew the secret of life. And that's my job in a nutshell.
