Barcelona done the World's Biggest €1bn Kit Deal With Nike

arcelona are reported to have agreed a massive €100m (~£78m) per year kit sponsorship deal with Nike, just days after the sportswear giants were said to have sealed a £60m-a-year contract with Chelsea.

Unlike the Blues though, the Spanish champions have been working with the American brand for a while – with the Catalan club getting a handy 200% increase on their existing deal in a new 10-year partnership.

The deal is set to surpass Manchester United’s £75m-a-year deal with Adidas as the world’s biggest kit deal, placing Luis Enrique’s club where their flood of trophies show they should be – at the very top.

With Nike losing a couple of their biggest names over the last couple of seasons – with United going to Adidas and Arsenal disappearing away to work with Puma – it’s no wonder they’ve moved quickly to double down on their deal with one of the world’s most recognisable clubs – with Chelsea now on board to back up their UK market.

The funds from the new kit deal and a soon-to-be renegotiated shirt sponsorship deal should give the club a little more flexibility in the transfer market, with funds said to be surprisingly tight over the past season or two.
