Possibly relevant for people in Hamburg, Germany: The Miniatur Wunderland, the biggest model railway in the world, is offering free entry on select days in January for people who can't afford it.

To use it, go to the cash register and say "I can't afford it" (or write it on a piece of paper or make it known in other ways), and you will get free entry. There are no conditions or verifications, they will simply trust you. The only problem is that there can be long wait times because this attraction is always very busy; their homepage gives hints on when the wait times should be the lowest.

Eine Szene aus dem "Miniatur Wunderland” in Hamburg - ihres Zeichens die “größte Modelleisenbahn der Welt”. Vielleicht ein bisschen geschummelt, aber alles an “Industrial”, was ich diese Woche vor die Linse bekommen habe.
