Even if Infected/Kasper gets cured and regains his memories, the damage done by the virus still leaves him with some lingering health problems, like slightly more sensitive lungs and a weaker immune system. Lampert's germ-conscious ways still remain as a means to keep Kas from getting sick again, and DrRETRO gives him routine check-ups to make sure he's still doing okay.
