Why did you wait so long?
The very reason why I am starting these blogs is because i needed somewhere to express my feelings about the world’s situation. After Paris attack I was shocked just like everybody, but i am not going to talk about this part, i want to share the thoughts i had after.
First I felt betrayed by most of the world. Everybody finally understood that ISIS is not a joke and felt so bad, but it took them (you) hundreds of lives before understanding it. Just a reminder in ISIS attacked (directly or indirectly) France three times, Tunisia twice, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Denmark, Australia, Nigeria, Lybia, Pakistan, Yemen and probably many other that i can’t remember (and of course Syria and Irak). It s kind of late for people to wake up and understand that today’s society is in trouble, that some kids born and raised in Europe felt reject to a point where they feel better fighting with Daech than living with their families, where some young girls would rather go to Syria than live in their princess dreams. This, my friend, is the real problem; we are in 2015 and we are living a huge social crisis that many seems to ignore. Young people are lost in a world lead by old leaders that don’t understand where the youth stand, most of them probably barely know about how people use Snapchat or Instagram, things that many of use uses on a daily bases. I am shocked that in 2015 people are impressed by Trudeau who is having a 50% of female ministers, this is not impressive this is normal. We live in a connected world, we can know every thing about every where any time, and we do pretty well. It looks like we care about human rights and lives, but unfortunately I feel like it’s just a “look like”. How many of you still care about #BringBackOurGirls in Nigeria, or #BlackLivesMatter, or #JeSuisCharlie #JeSuisTunis and others and soon enough #PrayforParis, or in a less politic note #IceBucketChallenge and #Movember. All these things we created, shared and “supportted” because we care or because we want to be as hipster as possible. Today’s world is wrong, people are being killed everyday but we only care when we can relate, people are starving, people are homeless and literally dying outside, in the cold; and we (including me) are seating here reading or playing and enjoying our lives, should we feel guilty because we are doing nothing NO. But we should at least think about it, be aware and talk about it in order to make things change. It’s our duty, we young people to change the world in order to make it a better place.
I know all these sounds very hipster, and dreams, you might want to tell me stop being such a Lisa Simpson, but think about it and if in 2015 I can’t dream big for the world through a blog, then we should maybe think more about the worst question ever “why are we here?”.
That’s the kind of more or less cheesy subjects i would talk about but not only, sorry it s a little long but i needed to say it, and as you can guess i wrote and thought at the same time so it won’t always make sense. Have a good one.
