Gaming on the TV and eating chips was a pleasurable past-time for the Great Sage Equal to Heaven... until he had to share. "No, stop--" He said, swinging the controller away from pawed hands. "I know I said it would be your turn, but--" He's the Monkey King. He should have unlimited turns, actually. "I worked hard for those drops -- you're just gonna waste them--! Ugh!" He was being overcome by at least six sets of soft chirps and the sacred climbing-on-his-head technique. They knew his weaknesses.
A blond paw reaching for the remote almost hand it, resembling that one famous renaissance painting.
But before it could make that final grab, it drew back. The monkey looked away suddenly, letting out a curious "ook?"
All of the other monkeys followed suit, ooking and heading out the door to investigate whatever bug noise must have gotten their attention. Cute.
Wukong rooted for them, "Go get that bug, little guys!" Then, decided this would be a perfect chance for some real authority. "I demand iiiit!" Annnnd they were gone. The king got comfortable again and looked back at the TV. Time for more gaming.
Hours later -- he wasn't sure how many -- he got the rare character he wanted. It was himself, of course. For the dozenth time. "Yes!" He jumped, pointing at the screen, "Look'at that armor!" He waited for the hoots of his family to support his success, but none came. No one was there, not a single monkey. "Oh." Wukong said, noticing this. It was immediately followed up by a hand to his chin and squinted vision. "That's weird." Usually there were at least some guys willing to hang out. The hut was warm, and TV screen go brrr. But no one here? That was unusual.
When was the last time he'd seen them? Oh right. That bug thing.
Okay, alright. Time to check out what they were up to.
Sun Wukong cracked his back and left his home. He called his cloud and lazily flopped onto it, letting it carry him over the mountain. Where was everyone? There. He spotted them. And who was that they were with?
