It's Orange Shirt Day in Canada! Here are some ways you can support survivors of residential schools today:
Learn about the harm done by residential schools, and the calls for justice (links contain discussions of child death and abuse)
Call your elected representatives and show up to city council meetings. Speak up in support of indigenous activists' causes.
Follow indigenous journalists and activists online.
Donate to organizations that help survivors:
The Indian Residential School Survivors Society offers counseling and other supports (24 hour crisis hotline: 1-(800)-721-0066)
The KUU-US Crisis Line Society (for adults: 250-723-4050; for minors: 250-723-2040
The First Nations Child and Family Caring Society

Hi everyone! I am getting a fresh start and jumped over to a new account for all my tumblr fun and was hoping to find more FFXIV blogs to follow. Please reblog if you are one. Thank you so much! ♥
I want to make this absolutely clear to kids: children didn't used to be stuck inside the house like you are today. There used to be public places you could hang out. It used to be fairly safe to walk around because trucks weren't designed to kill children. You didn't need a car to go anywhere so kids without a license weren't trapped. There weren't 24/7 cable news networks constantly scaring parents with anecdotes even as crime was at all time lows and the biggest danger comes from adults kids know not strangers.
It's easy to ignore old people talking about "the good ol' days" because a lot of the people saying that shit are racist assholes, but the way society treats kids today really is objectively worse than how kids used to be treated. You deserve better, and you should know that better things are possible. We just need to kill the suburbs and for-profit news.
When I was a kid in the 80s and 90s, I could go for a bike ride or walk with my sister or friends and we could leave after breakfast and not come back until dinner and our parents weren't worried. We lived on the edge of town, so we could turn left into the woods or turn right and go downtown or go straight and go to a friend's house in the neighborhood. I went to a park or the community pool or went out for ice cream alone from a young age.
I also regularly walked to and from school alone from as young as first grade (so, about age 6). And I'm not saying I walked three miles uphill in snow both ways, but I checked a map and it was over half a mile and crossed at least one street that people drive pretty fast on. And that was normal.
All the same for the ‘60s.

Craft - What Does Your Heart Look Like
A compass that doesn't waver
You are someone who is certain of what you want. Maybe you always have been, or maybe you made a discovery that you haven't been able to tear your eyes away from. Your heart is set and certain. You fight endlessly for your goals. Above all else, you know who you are and what you are trying to achieve. Just be careful not to tear yourself or others apart in pursuit of your ideals

- Hi!🐰 My name is Megan and my lovely WoL is Heather. I go by either of those names, so no worries there!❤️
- I’ve been playing ffxiv off and on since 2019, but I really fell in love with it around a year ago and I have logged in everyday since.
- I love to take screenshots, put glams together, and decorate my house the most.
- I’m also tempted to step into the rp scene at some point, and also develop Heather’s story. However, I have never done either of those things before, so if you have any tips let me know please!
~ A little background on me ~
- I have been gaming for a very long time, mostly playing World of Warcraft, and then FFXIV completely stole my heart.
- Throughout my journey, I have met so many people who have had an impact on me in one way or another. Some good, but most of them were the worst of the worst. My experiences with these people have led me to have some social anxiety when it comes to interacting with people in gaming communities. I am always afraid that the friendships that I form with new people will start out good, but end up like all of the others. So, I tend to have a difficult time trusting that the people I meet have good intentions.
- It is something that I am working on, and trying to get over because in the real world I do not have this problem at all and I am very social.
- Anyway, if you have made it this far I truly appreciate you taking the time to read my post! If you are on Dynamis, send me a message and maybe we can hang out!
Have a wonderful day!✨
