         wrong turn wrong turn wrong turn -- the little librarian stumbles back, thin hands fumbling to find somewhere to go, something to do. typically the disconcerting strangers she stumbles upon when walking home are not alive. but the freeze in her system is not that same freeze -- it isn’t supernatural by any means, it’s the freeze of fear & knowing that she’s made a mistake. eyes are wide, her flimsy presence noticed before she could disappear like she so often does. she begins signing sorry over & over, trying to find words. “s -- so s-sorry, sir, i -- i -- i d-d-didn--n’t see -- a-anything ...”
