Domestic Travel Staycations
Stay cations With the current Covid pandemic, the world is a strange mad place as we are well aware!
An even more strange place is the Travel and Tourism industry, once a bustling global transatlantic industry and now...now what has actually happened.
While everyone is taking shelter, being cautious and either prevented/discouraged or unable to travel abroad and new buzz word has appeared on the scene..."Staycations".
I'm not sure if it should be "staycations", "staycation" or "stay cations" but I suppose every weekend away since lockdown could be classed as a staycation!
Not quite the dream locations I intended to notch off the bucket list but nether less enjoyable Staycations..yes I had more than one!
That's really the thing, the pandemic has made me appreciate the little things again. A break from work (or at least the spare room and my laptop). The ability to once again see people and nature interacting.
Watching how people and businesses are forging their way through lockdowns, anxiety and fear of the unknown future now with the Delta or Indian variant currently doing the rounds.
So, what has this done to the travel industry and particularly the holiday or vacation rentals market.
Well the vacation rentals market has gone berserk!
Initially, with many cancellations from those who could not travel initially to their chosen holiday or vacation destinations. Then once the barrage of cancellations and refunds had occurred, then kicked in Staycations or domestic travel bookings. Those people that could still getaway, those that were not in a lock-down restricted area and those that could afford to book a staycation.
Yet again supply and demand has pushed prices up and up and if you have been searching for a vacation or holiday then you would have definitely noticed it too!It does not matter if you were looking to rent an apartment, rent a villa, book a cottage, charter a yacht or even book a beach hut for the day, you will have noticed that you would pay for just a few nights the equivalent of a week on holiday in Cyprus or even Egypt!
Then go and have a look at the availability calendars of places, that villa, that apartment even the yacht and you will be incredibly lucky to find a week or even a few nights that might work for your staycation vacation! Check out the likes or Vrbo and AirBnb and you will immediately see the problem.
This is the trend we have noticed at World Global Vacations and hence we have launched our Owners Direct listings website. There is literally no point in trying to be the middle man, trying to be the booking agent or rental agent as the rental market is so volatile and changeable at the present moment in time.
Does it just make more sense of use to fine trustworthy and notable vacation rental property owners and let our customers deal direct with them?
Of course it does, by cutting out the middle man we can keep the weekly booking prices low and if your contacting a holiday rental owner direct then they will be on top of their cancellations, be able to accommodate your individual requirements and hopefully give you the best staycation possible!
