Well, it’s about damn time that this mini-war finally ended... And the Reaper felt utterly exhausted by it all. But now wasn’t the time to sleep... without any conflict to worry about, Ragna had made a beeline right for his home in Archimedes. All the things he had gathered beforehand were still there... He’ll still have to find and thank the flag girl for helping him secure the area for this. But now it was time to work. And in the middle of that work, he needed to make a phone call to a certain witch...
“Hey, Nine? Finally glad this shit’s over now... But before I pass out, I need you over at my place for somethin’. It’s really important... can you make it?“

Green eyes were wide at the assortment of colorful confections in the window. The entire street was a montage of endless eateries, and he felt his stomach growl loudly as he took in the sight before him. He couldn’t remember what his favorite foods were, or if he even had any. Maybe he didn’t even have a preference for sweets, he couldn’t know until he tried them.
Not that those thoughts were occurring to a six year old even every color in the world danced in front of his vision, hands pressed against the glass as he documented every swirl of frosting.
Someone left and the sweet smells wafted out, enticing him forward, but...
A furrowed brow, and he pulled out what he could only assume was a phone. When looking in the window, others were paying for their pastries with this. Turning to go the other way, he bumped into someone’s legs, almost dropping it on the process.
“Um...” Looking up at her, her long pink hair reminiscent of his own pink streaks. Maybe she could, or would, help? His therapist was kind, so were his teachers, so...
“Could you teach me how to pay for stuff?” Holding out his phone, but careful not to let it go, lest it get snatched. “I saw other people doing it, but I’m not sure how.”
“What th-- How come we’ve got so much pocky in here?? Who bought all this?? I can’t even see any of the other stuff on the shelves--“
explain yourself, @worldrebel !
“Nine is rather bold, isn’t she...”
...That aside, he felt like whatever he did, he needed to stay at least a few square miles away from Celica. Maybe that was just the standard to expect, but today especially, it felt prudent.
THIS presence... Even with the siphoning powers at work here on this island, it’s stifling. Tsubaki truthfully can’t quite discern if it’s due to her true presence, or the intimidation that came from her aesthetic. Still, there’s something vaguely familiar about it... But what ?
Of course, the more pressing matter was that in her singular focus --- briskly completing her patrol route, as always --- she’d barreled right into her. She’s not sure what she had been drinking, but it smelled strongly of sugar and went flying as soon as Tsubaki’s face collided with the woman’s shoulder --- contact that stunned her and, in the time that passed, led to her myriad of thoughts that in no way helped the situation... !
❝ Gh --- ! I-I’m so sorry, I don’t even know how I... ❞

This place was bothersome, if he was being honest. It was true that the matter of that strange cat-eared assassin was still present back in Ishana, but to be frank, he almost preferred it to this place. There was this sense that he was ‘caged’, here, that nothing was truly predictable. Even though nothing had happened yet, he felt as though the moment he set foot in here, the life he knew before this city would never be returned.
That thought was sealed when he came across someone whom he almost didn’t recognize at first.
Though she did not wear the uniform of the Mage’s Academy anymore, the piercing gaze he received was unmistakable. Everything else, however, made it seem like he was looking upon a phantom reflection of that person.
“Nine-san? You were brought here, too?” He said the name like he wasn’t sure he was talking to her. “We’re approaching the season, but isn’t it a bit soon to dress for Halloween...?”
Kazuma could only let out an insincere dry laugh at his own comment, which he quickly silenced for fear of his life. He heard that humor was a good way to defuse tense situations. Though he felt like in his haste to try and do so, he may have just foolishly lit the fuse.
