Jade’s heart jumped. The thought vanished in her head, replaced by that familiar instinct to calm before anything got worse. “Okay!” she cried, reaching up to grab Pey'j's arm. “Alright, I’m sorry!”
Pey’j relaxed a bit at her touch, but still huffed in anger. “I promised to keep you safe,” he grunted.
“I know you did,” she said, forcing a reassuring smile. “It’ll be fine. I’m sorry, I’m just – just trying to get all the facts.”
Slowly, he took a deep breath and sat back down. Dolph relaxed minutely, but he looked poised to bolt. Bullfrog didn’t take his eyes off him.

All that Jade really remembered was a life with Uncle Pey'j. He'd been the one taking care of her when her parents died. He raised her and helped her become the investigative reporter she was. But when they're arrested, when she gets hurt in Min's penthouse and he begins acting strange, she'd forced to confront how good that life really was.
Maybe she just wants to get away from him. And maybe that makes her guilty.
Anyways this is about Jade. It's her backstory and also he not dying in the second episode, and everything that entails, along with some chats with the other characters. But I mostly wanted to focus on her. She deserved better lmao.
