The feeling of the sheets on my skin as I lay in bed all cuddled up. They're smooth and soft. They embrace my every curve, not caring that there's a stretch mark here or a wrinkle there. The pillow caresses my head as I sink into the mattress. This bed is my comfort zone, free from judgments and wrapped up nice and snug. People often wonder why I'd rather be asleep, and it's not that I'd rather be asleep. It's that I'd rather be held by things that don't expect anything in return. They're just there, there to make you feel safe and warm. As I peek my toes from under the sheets and around the comforter, I don't worry about the monsters under my bed. I feel secure, and secure is a nice feeling.
