Have you ever just stopped and thought about the word 'school'?
Like it's finally been long enough since I've had to use it with the frequency, and it just slapped me in the face. It's such an ugly word (it has a similar mouth feel as scorn), it's letter combination is just unusual (HOOL), it doesn't play fair by language rules ...
...And yet, it's one of the first words you learn in the English language. Weirdness.

I was thinking about that post that says “Not everyone will appreciate that you’ve evolved because they still have a particular version of you stuck in their head /That is their problem, not yours. /Evolve as you please.” My brain’s reflexive response was “Damn straight, we’re humans, not fanfiction!” And then I realised. Everything that the bullshit media and the alt-right say about POCs, about women, about queers, about global warming and millennials... it’s all just hateful AU fanfiction. So are all those hateful intrusive thoughts in my brain. So I arrived at “you control the cannon; become your best AU.” Ok, it’s a bloody weird little motivational speech, but my brain doesn’t do that much, so I’ll take it. (And take an internet break, I think.)

Me: *goes apeshit* Netflix: Wood, Metal *record scratches to a stop* Me: Wait, that’s not Avatar. *squints coz I’m blind* Elemental martial arts, diversity in actors and Iko Uwais from The Raid as producer and actor? THAT’LL DO! TL;DR, Everything changed on Netflix when Sense8 and The Expanse got cancelled. But then I discovered the new Avatar, Wu Assassin. Netflix still have a lot to learn, but I believe they can still make ok things.
Had an idea for modern world DnD AU/Camp Nettlebee; an orc kid and an elf kid that form an unlikely alliance over how they both get the state-subsidused lunch, which is usually fried rice or stew or some kind of mash, and they spend half of lunch picking out the pieces of meat and vegetables for each other to make sure each gets their nutritional needs met.
