Worth the Watch?: The Man in the High Castle

I looked down the hall and I can see him leaning against the lockers, arms folded but his back to me. I can see the outline of his biceps against his tight shirt and knew he was standing that way for a reason. In front of him was a young brunette smiling and strategically looking down before back to his eyes with her head still down. I wasn’t going to bother giving him an opportunity to come after me so I just snapped a picture on my phone and turned around heading to my car. As soon as I was out of the parking lot I sent him the picture and reminded him I was supposed to meet him at the station for our date. You would think that after 14 years, if he was going to cheat, he wouldn’t be so obvious about it. I’ve offered the option of bringing someone else into the bed with us but there were rules along with that. Not someone either of us works with and we both had to discuss it before anything was brought forward to the girl. I didn’t think that was so difficult but honestly, it’s a mute point right now. 

I pulled into the garage and left the door open knowing I was going to be leaving in just a minute. I grabbed the bag I had in my closet and threw in a few items of clothing and hygiene before going back out to the car. I stuffed a bottle of whisky in the bag as I passed the kitchen. My phone has been ringing since I sent the message but I ignored it. Backing out of the driveway I headed east knowing he would be coming from the west. I could pick any of the 7 or so close hotels but figured if he thought finding me was worth it, he could do some work. 

Just on the outskirts of the city I checked into the Hilton and went to my room. I used my personal card so he couldn’t look at the account and figured I might as well get a fancy room. After pouring myself a glass of whisky, I ran the tub and got in, finally taking a look at my phone. He was freaking out and for a second I felt guilty but this isn’t the first time I’ve seen him with this chick and  told him I didn’t like it already. She was a city clerk and didn’t need to be in the officers locker rooms at all plus its already been confirmed that she has slept with no less then 3 other guys om the department. 

I didn’t read the texts first before responding to him since it had already been over and hour. “I’m going to read your messages and you need to give me time.” He hated when I said he needed to give me time. Most of his text were along “baby please” “where are you?” “Don’t make me send out my guys” That last one made me think. I hadn’t eaten since we were supposed to go to dinner which made the whisky hit me hard and fast. “Send out your guys, actually...send Jackson... maybe he can stay with me”

“Stop! I was standing like that because I knew you were coming but then she came in and started flirting and she didn’t get a sentence out before you were taking that picture”

I felt foolish. I felt drunk. I was still upset though. “You could have stood up when she came in”

“Where are you”

“At a hotel”

“What hotel?”

“figure it out.”

I know he is going to find me so I call the front desk and let them know that if my husband came looking for my room that it was okay to give him a key.

I just spent $110 on swimwear. Why do we spend more on glorified bras and underwear than normal clothes? I could by like 10 shirts for the price of 2 swimsuits.
