Just discovered that L’Oreal Canada’s #WorthSaying campaign runs until the end of this month — for each #worthsaying mention, the beauty brand will donate $.25 toward women’s equality in the film industry, whether behind the camera or in front of it. Hands up if you make an effort to support films written/directed by and starring women! We don't exclude movies made by men and featuring largely male casts, of course – my niece Lauren and I enjoyed “The Public,” written and directed by Emilio Estevez, who also starred in the movie along with Jena Malone, Gabrielle Union, Taylor Schilling, Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater, Michael K Williams and Jeffrey Wright. 🎥 But according to Emmy-winning actress @ShorehAghdashloo, only 7% of directors in the US are female; in Europe, 27%.
