Those of you who have followed me forever know that I am capable of burning water and lighting foodstuffs on fire that should not be on fire.

So tonight, I invite you all to join me as I try to make grilled mac 'n cheese sandwiches. 

If they turn out well (and not Blackened Cajun Style as my cooking is often referred to,) you are all invited over and we will have a grilled mac 'n cheese sandwich party. Please someone bring the alcohol, as I'll be providing the sandwiches.

Rough Cooking Guide for Mists of Pandaria

You will need a lot of bag space for this.

If you haven't already trained to zen master cooking, save your money and do not train it yet. Do train up your fishing in SW (or in whatever city you have the best reputation with) before departing to Pandaria. You will get much better prices. Look for schools of Jade Lungfish and get 5 to stow in your bags. Jade Lungfish are fished from streams/rivers/ponds/lakes inland. You will likely be getting a lot of Golden Carp. Make sure to keep at least 5 of those.

When you are on the coastal waters, make sure to look for schools of Giant Mantis Shrimp. You will need 5 of them. If you can't find the schools for these fish, they can be obtained from open water, but at a lower drop rate.

When you kill the birds, make sure you loot them for Wildfowl Breasts. You will need 5 of them in total. You can also get these from birds in Valley of the Four Winds and the zone just below it.

When you kill tigers make sure you collect Raw Tiger Steaks x5.

Be sure to find a trainer that teaches the recipe Rice Pudding. Do NOT make it yet!

Once you have those things you can head over to Valley of the Four Winds and in somewhat the center of the zone is a place called Half-Hill. This is a nice place as it has an Inn, a mailbox, vendors, and cooking quest-givers. You will find that there are new specialized types of cooking-- you can learn them all.

Find an NPC named Sungshin Ironpaw. Actually while you are in Emerald Forest you should at some point pick up a quest to meet her (It is given by different Inkeepers). She will train you, give you a cooking quest and if you tell her you need cooking supplies it opens up a merchant screen so you can purchase things. I forget which quest comes first, but one requires you to make Rice Pudding x5. It requires rice and yak milk (which can be purchased from Sungshin). Create the pudding and turn it in. She will also ask you to make Sliced Peaches, Instant Noodles, and Toasted Fish Jerky (all x5). She sells the peaches and the Noodles. The fish jerky is made from Golden Carp. One of the rewards for her quests is that you will learn the Zen cooking for free.

It seems the Ironpaw family loves to cook and they have different specializations. First do the quest for Sungshin. 

Quests for the specialization will open up to you. She will give you quests for each specialization.

I'm listing the specialized ones in no particular order.

Give the 5 tiger steaks to Kol Ironpaw. He will then give you a quest to learn the charbroiled tiger steak recipe. Talk to him, tell him you want to train, learn the recipe and then cook the 5 steaks and turn them in. You will get one Ironpaw Token which, when you get enough of them, can be used to purchase more things.

Give the 5 Wildfowl breasts to Jian Ironpaw. Follow the quest instructions (learn the recipe, cook, turn in).

The shrimp goes to Yan Ironpaw while the Lungfish goes to Mei Mei Ironpaw.

For Bobo Ironpaw, you will need Ginseng x5 (purchased from Sungshin).

This leaves Anthea Ironpaw. Her needs are a bit trickier and will take more time. She needs Juicycrunch carrots x10. Now, the carrots can be dropped from a few mobs, or they can be purchased from Nam Ironpaw in a sack (I believe it costs 1 Ironpaw Token-- I decided not to spend any tokens yet because I'm stingy). Or you can grow them. It takes 2 carrots for the recipe so you will end up with 5 of the final product if you harvest 10 carrots (from 2 seeds). Note: I do not know if you always get 5 per each type of seed, but so far everything I have planted has yielded 5 vegetables from one bag of seeds.

Yes, you heard me, you can now grow your own vegetables. There is a quest starting with Farmer Yoon. He has just inherited his family farm and is getting grief from the locals because he is new to the area. First he will ask you to smash some rocks that are in the way in his garden. He will then ask you to go to Merchant Greenfield (who is over near the Ironpaws) and ask about cabbage seeds. Tell the merchant where Yoon is and he will give you one packet for free. At some point you will be asked to till some soil. The piles of dirt are right next to him so you will just click on them (I wish it were so easy in real life). You will need at least 2 of them. You then need to plant the seeds in the tilled soil. Nearby there will be a watering can. Use the water can on the plants afterward. Then he asks you to go under his hut (which is on stilts nearby) and get something out of the dark soil. Take it to Gina Mudclaw. She is a quartermaster of sorts. This opens up some new quests from her. She is in desperate need of scallions. Go to Merchant Greenfield and purchase one sack of seeds (while you are there, pick up two packs of Juicycrunch carrot seeds). Go back to Yoon's farm and till one plot of soil and plant the scallion seeds (also plant the carrot seeds in another tilled mound). If it says it is infested, pick up the bug spray next to the steps and spray it. If it says the plant is Parched, then pick up the watering can and water the plants. If you ever make a mistake and plant the wrong thing you can use the little shovel to dig something up. Unfortunately you will have to wait until midnight server time to be able to harvest. It says it takes a day for things to grow.  Also, if a light is shining down from above (similar to Elder's Moonstone effect), it means your plant is being watched by a bird. Clock on the plant and the bird will attack. You can't harvest it until this is done. Sometimes the plant will wiggle around and you will have to click on it. A vermin will pop out and attack. If it says something is Runty, left-click on it and jump. I don't know what that does, but for some reason those were the instructions. Sometimes after harvesting you will have a Stubborn Weed remaining. Click on it and then hit 1 over and over and over until the weed is pulled. You can then till the soil.

At midnight server time or some time after midnight you can go back and harvest your plants. Give the scallions to Gina and she will be happy.

At this point in time, my character is only level 87 and I haven't had the chance to really work on the cooking as I have VERY limited space. This is a basic start I guess. If anyone has more tips, please let me know. I just wanted people to save their money and time a bit.
