No new stobotnik art but I have this very niche stobotnik crossover idea that is stobotnik x before the gets cold or at least a very inspired one for that
Before the coffee gets cold is a japanese novel by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. Where its a series of oneshot of character going to a café in Tokyo that have the ability to travel back in time in the same café, as long as they return before their coffee gets cold, hence the name.
I say inspired because I'm thinking instead of the character being stuck at that time when the coffee gets cold, like in the book, I think it would be sadder to have Stone just go in a timeloop.
I think the story would start where Stone goes back to Mean Beans or what remains of it to make himself a coffee or perhaps metal sonic then as he's tinkering with metal sonic he found something that robotnik made that made him go back in time while he finished making his coffee.
The time jump back to sonic 2 when robotnik when to mean beans and it freak stone tf up but because he's stone he kept a cool face, throughout the whole thing before he suddenly went back to the same time robotnik burst through the door again repeating the same event.
Of course he would change most of it but he still couldn't figure out what can made him go back and the weird slight time difference between him going back in wach loop. I think he would figure out first that it was of the machine that's doing thing then later that its the coffee turning cold.
So he would make keep the coffee hot, he would continue to steam it everything that would make the coffee not turn cold but it won't last long becuase he would always go back to the same door being burst open in front of him. And he thinks... he's fine with it, he's with this. Anything is better than being back to the time where the man that he know of is dead.
So instead of figuring everything out he just olay along help robotnik out, receiving the emerald faster, catching sonic and co, seeing in all his glory. Before suddenly a thought came to mind, what if he confess here and there, perhaps that would make him stay in this timeline.... a time where he and robotnik is together ruling everyone. A time where he can be with the man he love, but it didn't. Whether robotnik give in or not, it doesn't matter. Because as the coffee turns cold no matter how long it was, he would always go back.
Out of frustration he threw the machine that causes all of this to the ground breaking it to tiny pieces over and over again till the turn cold. Then he's back. Not where ivo burst through the door, but at the time where truly was alone at the mean beans trying to take revenge on his dying partner with the sound of metal sonic in the background. Crumbling to the ground as he finally cried out and grieve that he would never get Ivo Robotnik back to his life again.
