It was inevitable that I was eventually going to draw her as a cat. She is. My favourite character. I have to make her suffer as much as possible

I’ve just finished page 4 of my upcoming 6 page comic. I’m taking a short break from working on my comic for now. I’m excited and nervous to share it when it’s ready.

Today, I wanted to share some of the non Hector/Jerry/Desmond art that I’ve made and been working on lately.

1: Wall Art

I made 2 motivational posters and put them on the wall in front of my desk.

• The first one is a smiksi saying “Drink Water”.

•The second one is a skull saying “You’re doing a better job than you think you are”.

•I often forget to drink water and I also tend to feel like I’m not good enough/doing enough so it’s nice to have two little guys to give me some kind reminders.

2: Denim vest

I’ve had this denim vest for a while now and I love it very much. I think fashion is super cool and I love decorating my clothes with pins, keychains, and patches. I plan to decorate my vest even more in the future.

Some close ups and details:

•I made the rat skeleton, the keyboard, and the speech bubble out of cardboard. The speech bubble says “Is there cheese in the great beyond?”. It’s a reference to one of my favorite Will Wood songs “Tomcat disposables”. The rat is meant to be playing the keyboard which isn’t accurate to the song because the song is mostly acoustic guitar, but I love the keyboard so I wanted to have the rat play it.

•I got an animal vertebrae and made it into a pin using a safety pin. I believe it’s a corn snake vertebrae but I’m not 100% sure.

•My partner got me a pack of magnets featuring a bunch of inner city animals. I turned one of the seagull magnets into a pin.

•I made a pin of the phrase “OK!” written in a Pompompurin lettering theme. I put it together using my pin making kit.

•I turned a Jarritos bottle cap into a pin. Jarritos is my favorite soda.

•There’s a pin of a green D10 and an orange D20 pin that says “Critical Fail!”

•There’s also a green beetle pin that I got when I went to see Beetlejuice the musical with my partner.

•I made the Pterodactyl and Parasaurolophus out of some tiny dinosaur figurines from my ever growing collection.

•I also made the “Evil Testosterone” and eyeball creature pins out of cardboard. These are refrences to “Re-animator” and “Bride of Re-Animator” (two of my all time favorite movies).

•Fun fact: The eyeball is closed on the other side and sometimes I’ll attach it to a small chain as a necklace I have so I can flip it over. I like to fidget with it.

•I have pins of some of the classic universal monsters too. I love them and I’m still searching for one of the Invisible Man.

•There’s a pin over the universal monsters area that says “Sometimes I wrestle with my demons. Sometimes we just snuggle.”

•Also, in both pictures I made my pronouns into three separate pins using bottle caps.

3: Tote bag

•I decorated a black tote bag to match with my vest. I made the patches out of the denim from some of the jeans I cut into shorts. I attached it to the bag with safety pins.

•I also made the white patch of a pair of uneven teeth with the phrase “Smile !!!”. I attached it to the denim patches using fabric glue.

•I made the green eyeball pin out of a bottle cap. Another refrence to “Re-Animator”

•I made the circular skull pin out of some art I made on construction paper. I used my pin making kit to put it together. The speech bubble coming out of the skull says “Hey”.

•I made the goldfish keychains out of some goldfish rings I got in a gachapon machine. The fish broke off of the rings so I turned them into keychains and attached them to my bag. I like to keep the goldfish together so that they don’t get lonely.

1 of 4 (four!!!) bald eagles we spotted yesterday!!

while we were watching a pond of assorted waterfowl, 2 adult baldies flew by together. when we continued down the trail, we spotted this juvenile in a nearby tree, and later we spotted a second juvie a mile or so away in a different tree! also spotted one of the parents sitting in their nest, possibly nursing eggs or younger chicks :D
