EXPLAINING THE WSQK 94.5 FM SQUAWK
To begin with, we need to understand that each radio station has a four-letter code issued by the FCC (the government agency that regulates radio stations in the United States). Stations with W or K in their codes indicate whether the radio station is located east or west of the Mississippi River, while the other letters are chosen by the stations themselves.
An example is WPTF (a real station), which serves as a reference for WSQK in the universe of st. The W indicates that it is east of the Mississippi River, and PTF was chosen by the station itself with the slogan "We Protect The Family."
WSQK 94.5 FM SQUAWK
The radio station in st uses the same W and K pattern, indicating it is east of the Mississippi River, and the SQ stands for (SQUAWK).
We've already seen the WSQK van with its beautiful blue color and an image of an eagle emitting a rainbow from its beak (probably making a reference with light radiation). Also I would find it amazing if this mascote at the set were the radio station's mascot that the production has among them, referencing/joking about the WSQK eagle, obviously it’s not going to be a part of S5
Visible light is part of a different electromagnetic spectrum, sharing similar characteristics with radio waves but at higher frequencies.
The term SQUAWK comes from the sounds that birds use to communicate, which makes sense with the eagle illustrated on the van.
It would be as if the eagle were “shouting” radio waves, trying to convey the message that WSQK radio frequency is powerful
