Chapter 1 - Next -> Masterlist Ao3
Summary: Finally, you’re allowed on base with your boyfriends who weren’t allowed to fully leave just yet It’s nice to just, hang out, yeah?
Warnings: A bit suggestive Else it’s just fluff
You snapped your hand back, startled as the grease sizzled. Hot, molten drops sprouting everywhere. This was your least favorite part of cooking, as you weren’t very used to pain, even in these small amounts.
Sighing, you turn down the heat a bit, letting the meal just sizzle for a bit.
Looking up at the clock, you see it was nearing noon. Your apartment still felt empty, all quiet. 2 months, since your neighbors - well, boyfriends - had left for a mission. You knew it took long. They’d been gone for longer, but it felt different after they had confessed. This had been the longest they had been gone since you had gotten together.
You didn’t even have work to keep you occupied, the bar you worked at having closed for a while thanks to all the disappearances in the area. They didn’t want to keep people outside that late, since that’s when most people go missing.
You weren’t really that worried, as you usually worked before it got dark.
You were startled out of your thoughts as your phone rang. You knew who it was without even looking, having specific ringtones for all of your boyfriends. Kyle. A smile widened on your lips as you shut off the stove completely, picking up the phone.
“Yes, hello handsome. Am I glad to hear from you.” An earnest chuckle was heard from the other side, as well as some rustling. On speaker. They must all have been quite desperate to hear from you, but unable to all call you at the same time.
“Same to ye, bonnie.” You heard from Johnny in the background. He wasn’t very close to the phone then.
“Gotta say Goose. You’re putting it a bit lightly.” Kyle finally spoke up. You were quite sure that Johnny had probably butted in before, right as Kyle had gone to speak. It wasn’t uncommon at least.
Goose. Your ‘military’ nickname. The boys had been drinking the day they had given it to you. You had all just ordered a pizza, a movie drowned out in the background, when they had been talking about their nicknames.
“Like I’d tol’ the L.T. ma name’s Soap, ‘cause I clean ou’ rooms like soap does with germs.” Johnny wasn’t even sitting on the couch, instead he was on the floor. His excuse was to give you more space. But you knew better as he rested his cheek on your thigh. He was always so handsy.
“Right. But not all of them have a meaning? Do they?” Price shook his head, his hat on the table instead of his head. It felt weird, but you wouldn’t comment on it. “Mine is just my last name.”
That’s when a thought came to you. Just some light fun. “What would my nickname be? If you had to give me one?” Their eyes all turned to you for a moment, before turning away in thought. That split moment had made you quite flustered.
“Hmm. Well, how abou’ Angel, since ye’re as beautiful as one.” Your gaze drifted to Johnny in your lap, a dopey smile on his lips. You could even see and hear his tail thump harshly against the flooring. This had been around the start of your relationship, so him complimenting and flirting with your so openly around the others, was still new to you.
“Don’t be such a suck-up. I’m sorry, but not even birdie here gets an exception when it comes to nicknames.” Simon was the one to voice up, lightly hitting Johnny on the back of his head, making the wolf whine. “Plus, you already call them that.”
“I still think it fits.” Johnny just pouted, making the others chuckle a bit.
“Maybe Goose?” Kyle was the one to suggest. It made Price let out a huff of amusement. “I think Goose fits.” Price seconded Kyle, a soft smile under his beard. They all seconded him, making him look at you with proud eyes. And if you had to be honest, it wasn’t the worst nickname you’ve heard them talk about.
“I guess, Goose it is.”
The memory still makes you smile today. You had taken the nickname to heart, seeing geese in a much different light. The boys had even changed your nickname in the group chat to goose. It made your heart swell with happiness and pride, as they had all taken to the nickname, using it as an endearment.
Like Kyle was doing now.
“So yeah. We got back a bit later than expected, but that just lets me get back to my next point. Price has said that he’ll let you come over to the base and hang out, since we can’t really leave yet.”
It was only now that you realized you had zoned out completely at his very nondescript tale of their mission. He liked telling you about him, keeping whatever was confidential under wraps.
“Wait really? I thought that wasn’t possible.” “Yeah well, Price finally spoke with Laswell, and she gave him a thumbs up, sooo.” You had heard a lot of good words about the woman, especially from Price, who seemed to be friends with her.
“Alright then. When should I be there?” You moved to your bedroom, pulling out your never used gym back to pack some overnight things. “Johnny’ll come pick you up in an hour. Price didn’t want you to get here alone.”
You had to take a moment to process his words. “No, please don’t. I think driving a truck over a cliff would be more safe.” That earned you an earnest chuckle from Kyle and a yell in the background. “He promised to drive well whenever you are in the car.” Disdain was clear on your face, though you knew that Kyle couldn’t see it.
“Alright fine. That’ll give me enough time to pack.”
You could hear someone yell in the background, to far to be heard from the speaker, as you packed the last of your stuff. “Right, Cap wanted to know if you were bringing anything to eat?” You chuckled quietly, one that only someone like Kyle would be able to pick up on. “Hmm, maybe. Gonna make it a secret.” They all knew that it meant you were bringing something.
Moving back to the kitchen, you put the bag on a chair. You moved the now cooled food, placing it on a plate. “Sorry Goose, but I have to get more presentable. We all do. So, we’ll see ya in about 2 hours, yeah?” You hummed, saying some quick goodbyes.
A giddy feeling settled in your stomach, happy to know they all got back safe and sound.
Opening the fridge, you grabbed the box of brownies you had made yesterday, mostly to snack on. But now you had a better plan for the sweet goodness. Packing it in the bag, you took the cooled food, munching it down.
Time really flew, as a knock was heard on your door. Johnny.
Bounding over, you opened it with a wide smile, an even wider smile present on the man behind the door. “Goose!” He quickly crowded your space, picking you up in a bone crushing hug. The werewolf was strong, that’s for sure, your breathing labored.
“Need… To breathe…”
He placed you down with a chuckle, leaning down to catch your lips in a kiss. A long awaited kiss.
He was always so impatient, always the one to hopefully see you first. To steal the first kiss after they’ve all been on deployment.
“No need ta breathe when ye have me.” He spoke with a cheeky grin, pulling away so his lips hovered over yours. His breath as minty. Seems like he had finally taken Kyle’s advice. It just made you chuckle and roll your eyes.
“Such a romantic.”
He shrugged his shoulders in jest, his tail wagging from side to side behind him. “Let’s get going, yeah?” You moved back to the kitchen, picking up your bag. Before you could swing it over your shoulder, Johnny had already taken it from your hands, holding it effortlessly.
His nose twitched, as his gaze landed on the bag. Of course, he could smell the faint scent of the brownies, even if they were cold.
He just smiled at you knowingly. He placed the strap onto his shoulder, moving back to the front door, letting you put on your jacket and shoes.
Outside was colder than you had expected for the day, the weather slowly turning colder as autumn came to an end. At least it wasn’t raining.
Johnny gently placed your bag in the trunk of the jeep he had taken to your apartment.
At least it could take a beating if anything happened.
You sat yourself in the passenger seat, leaning back with a contempt sigh. He hadn’t turned off the car when he had gone to collect you, which meant it was nice and toasty inside, a stark contrast to the growing cold.
He sat in the drivers seat, taking off as soon as he had put on his own belt. He was eager to bring you back, ready to have his entire pack back together after some weeks apart. And you couldn’t lie, you were thrilled to see the others.
Granted, you hadn’t been completely lonely while they were gone, mostly keeping yourself company with some friends online. Though, Hori had been the only one available for a few weeks.
A hand landed on your thigh, a thumb rubbing on the outside of it. Glancing over, your sight landed on the end of his tail, as it was still wagging, though smushed between the seat and himself.
“M’eudail.” You lifted your head, keeping your eyes on his face. He, luckily, kept his sight in the front, keeping an eye on traffic. When no other words were spoken, you understood that it wasn’t to get your attention. Just a conformation that you were there with him again.
Even after he had parked the car and opened the door for you, he still wouldn’t let you carry your own bag. It wasn’t even that heavy. But you knew better than to argue with the wolf.
He was always such a gentleman.
Guiding you inside the base, his hand naturally drifted to the lower of your back. Even when he was walking, he could barely keep his hands to himself. You could tell by his tail, that he was holding himself back even more, a thump on your thigh being the culprit.
You got a few side glances from some of the other soldiers passing the two of you in the hallway, looking away quickly when Johnny would give them a dark look. Simon was usually the most intimidating of all of them, but that didn’t mean the others weren’t built like fucking walls of muscle.
Johnny could, and probably would, body slam anyone else in the building who threatened the integrity of the pack.
That still sometimes caught you off guard. You were part of his pack. You were theirs, just as much as they were yours. They were all wrapped around your finger, like you were wrapped around theirs. It felt nice.
Right outside of the rec room, Johnny stole one more kiss before pushing you inside, as if you were a lamb for sacrifice. A prey in the lions den. Though, you knew you were in no danger. You never were when you were with them. They would keep you safe. Always.
“Goose!” Kyle was quick to wrap you into his arms, his wings wrapping around you. He gave you a kiss, a warm welcome as always. “Awe, wha’ abou’ me?” Johnny smirked, needy as always, from all of his lovers. Kyle rolled his eyes, giving the wolf a kiss. “As a reward for getting the bird.”
They both guided you over to the couch, settling you against Kyle, Johnny laying his heavy body on you. Granted, he was half way off, as to not suffocate you.
You noted the absence of Price and Simon in the room, “where’s the others?” You stroked Johnny’s cheek, staring into his eyes. “Si’s taking a bath, and Price had some paperwork to do, so he’s in his office.” Kyle was the one to respond, Johnny too infatuated with you to say anything, nuzzling his face into your palm instead.
He even fucking licked it.
“Johnny!” You let out a giggle as his actions tickled your hand. He just smirked, laying his head on your stomach. “You’re impossible.” You racked your free hand through his mohawk, earning a contempt sigh from him.
“Can’ help it. No’ when you’re righ’ here, with us.”
All the heads in the room turned on a swivel as a door opened, Simon coming from the hallway with their barracks. He had opted for just one of his balaclava, but even so, you could see the damp hair strands peeking out from underneath.
He walked closer, no words spoken as he held his eye contact with you. Once he stood behind the back of the couch, Kyle moved his wings, as they had wrapped around you and Johnny.
Still, without uttering a word, Simon leaned over the back, pulling up his balaclava to show his blond stubble and crooked nose. He caught your lips in a quick kiss, only pulling away when Johnny sighed, his love struck gaze on the two of you.
Simon just smiled, giving Kyle and Johnny each a quick peck on their foreheads. “I’ll make some tea. Want some?” He moved his mask into its place, but kept his gaze on you. “I would love that.” He stood back to his full height, patting your head with a sweet tenderness.
And such went the next few hours, a weird BBC series droning away on the TV, the cup of tea practically empty already, the rest of it cold. Johnny was snoring away, his nose dug into the softness of your stomach, a slight bit of drool able to be felt.
Had it been anyone else, you would probably have been disgusted, but it came with the package that was loving Johnny.
Simon had situated himself in one of the two chairs, the one he had claimed for himself, a book in his hands. For one he wasn’t wearing gloves, his black claws on full display. It wasn’t often he showed his hands, even around you.
Not that you really minded. He would show what he was comfortable with, and you would love him nonetheless.
The quiet was broken as the door to the rec room opened to the hallway outside, a grumbling but otherwise quiet, Price entering. He had to stop for a moment as his gaze landed on your position, and well, your presence in general.
He finally moved, a smile hidden, but still shown, under his beard. “Good to see you again, treasure.” He went to give you a kiss, landing on the corner of your mouth. His beard tickled your cheeks slightly, making you giggle quietly.
“Same to you, Cap’n.” You jest, pulling him into an actual kiss. “Will say, it felt empty without you.” He racked his claws across your scalp, making sure to be as gentle as possible. “Johnny and Kyle whined the entire way home.”
A flustered choke could be heard behind you, as Kyle mumbled about how it wasn’t true.
You just shook your head, knowing better.
“So the paperwork didnae kill ye?” Johnny asked, opening his eyes ever so slightly, a smirk even in his eyes. “It’s gonna need more than that to kill me.” Price just scoffed back at the wolf, giving him a quick kiss on the forehead. “Though it’s getting mighty close.” Hadn’t you been as close to the dragon as you were, you wouldn’t have been able to hear his comment.
“Mm, we wouldn’t have allowed that, sir.” Kyle commented, just earning a grumble and some ruffling.
Eyes turned back on you as you let out a yelp, Johnny having hiked up your shirt to expose your stomach, kissing all over it, leaving slobber in his wake. “Johnny,” you could feel Kyle’s claws rake across your sides, leaving behind goosebumps. “Hm?” He just hummed against your skin, not even lifting his head to look at you.
“I’m too tired.” You confessed. And it was the truth.
It had gotten late into the day, and you had been working all day while at home.
Johnny let out a whine, one which was cut off as Simon had practically materialized behind him, grabbing the nape of his neck. “Guess I’ll take care of this.” He grumbled, though you knew he actually wanted to. It was visible in the glint in his eyes.
He dragged the needy wolf with him to the barracks, leaving behind you, Kyle and Price. Kyle leaned closer to you, drifting kisses across the nape of your neck. “I’ll go join them. You and Prize go rest, yeah?”
Before you could answer him, you felt a strong pair of arms wrap around your body, peeling you off the harpy and into the arms of Price. “Sounds like a plan to me.” Price pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“We’ll see you in the morning, goose.” Kyle stood from his spot, leaving you both with a kiss for each.
Once he was out, Price turned his full attention to you. “Couch?” The TV was still running. “With Johnny in there, yes.” You both just chuckled, settling back into the couch, Price’s singular wing draping over you like a blanket.
You wouldn’t even need a blanket, as Price was a fucking oven, the natural flame inside of him keeping both himself and you warm.
You weren’t sure if winter was going to be hell or heaven. No heating was going to be turned on, but then again, you would probably be spending the most of your time in between three large men.
Simon wasn’t included, as that man was cold like the dead. A fact that had saved you from overheating during cuddle sessions and sleep overs.
Price laid your head on his chest, letting his heart beat lull you to sleep. The darkness overtook you quickly, a safety in the room that you hadn’t felt ever since they left for deployment.
God, you loved your life.
