Here, Elise is a stubborn veterinarian who, at 18, lost her parents when they and her little brother, Cody, got in a wreck, leaving the little birthday boy and her orphaned and leaving Elise to have him live with her during her college days in her tiny apartment in the city.

what are some other phases Elise has had?

Ehh, she had a few.

When she was about 3 or 4, she got real into dragons (that’s when mom tried to “water down” game of thrones so they could bond over it, she didn’t really get it but liked the dragons, which I guess is fitting considering her name)

Her horse phase (which, let’s be honest, is still going on) started when she was about 6 or 7? That’s about when we’d go over to Abuelo and Mimi’s ranch constantly.

Then, when she moved in with me after the wreck, I tried to get her into a hobby to pull her out of her slump like her therapist advised. That’s when she got into her gardening phase.

It first started off with me getting her out of the apartment and spending a day at the community garden, but by the time school picked up, it was hard to balance garden time, school, work, and therapy, so I had to get her to downsize to a couple of potted plants to take care of at the apartment.

She really liked gardening, it reminded her of the ranch a bunch. But it’s hard to take care of plants where we lived, the windows didn’t really bring in a lot of sun, and we didn't have a balcony, so the plants died off pretty quickly.

After seeing her plants die off like that, she kind of... relapsed... 

It was bad. She tried again and again, but not a lot of them really worked out, she kind of gave up after that.

Honestly, if I still had custody over her, I would have loved to move back into a house with a yard for her to plant stuff.

I’m hoping David’s place will have space for gardening so she can get back into it.
