Wrecking Balls
It is easy to get caught up with the wrecking balls that life likes to throw in our way. Of course, why wouldn't we get caught up? They destroy everything in their way and around them. They don't care who or what ends up suffering the after effects of the damage they had done.
If you're anything like me, you suffer in silence. You try to reach out; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. You think to yourself "people have their own problems, I don't want to bother them with mine". You feel like a burden to everyone around you. When you try to surround yourself with people, you feel as if people are sucking the life out of you. But that doesn't change when you lock your bedroom door and isolate yourself. Because people are still expecting something from you. And you don't want to disappoint them.
If you're anything like me, you plan everything. You try your best to be flexible. But when Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C all come crashing down because of a mistake you made in the past that you still can't let go of, you come crashing down with those plans, too. No matter how many people tell you "you still have time", "don't worry too much about it", "you're still young", you still have a much louder and stronger voice in your head that says "you're a failure", "you deserve this", "that's what you get for not planning your life as well as _____", and "everyone is better than you".
Sometimes, those feelings and thoughts are so loud that they end up written in a blog like this one. Sometimes, even after all the damage, your eyes still light up to the idea of being new and different. And, sometimes, wrecking balls leave an empty room that can be built into whatever your heart desires.
