Wren: ‘’...I just cannot understand how she abandoned her own party. Did she simply not wish to have one at all?’’
Sparrow: ‘’You now understand how your parents must of felt about you, Wren. Are you warm enough in that evening coat, darling?’’
Wren: ‘’I’m fine.’’
Wren: Summertime, sweet like the ripest fruit. Days spent in the haze of the heat, dipping into the ocean. Sparrow and I had made every effort to keep the children in a little paradise, away from trouble. In a way, it was for us too.
After feeling pain for so long, we wanted to feel the sun on our backs - calm and simple, with no eyes watching our every move.
It was lovely.
Wren: ‘’And also, I’m expecting again. Having some alone time in the house while the children go to school would be nice.’’
Sparrow: ‘’You couldn’t have told me that first?’’
Wren: ‘’Surprise!’’ [laughter]
Time passes by so quickly. The weather begun to cool down and before we knew it, I had to say au revoir.
🎶
Wren: We’re truly doing this?
Sparrow: Truly. No need to wake yourself up.
Wren: Don’t flatter yourself too much, Sparrow.
Wren: ‘’I don’t want any trouble, Tiberius. We’ve done exactly as you wished. No trouble, I haven’t told anyone we separated - Sparrow and I didn’t even get married. You’re still legally my husband.’’
Tiberius: ‘’They know the children are mine. There is no escaping that. You either eridicate yourself from the mind of every person in this town - or give me the children.’’
Wren: ‘’...I’m - pardon?’’
Eyelet Lace: ‘’Mama, it’s raining! Finally, come look - the dry spell’s broken!’’
