Do you have any controversial headcanons that go against what is generally accepted by the fandom? Do you incorporate this into writing your muse or keep it to yourself?
Questions for Muns of Canon Muses
well, i don’t know about controversial headcanons, but i do have headcanons that go against what is widely considered ‘canon’ these days in terms of what ff15 is anymore. namely, the content about ardyn and the supremely “canon” “fix-it fic” of the novel. ( why yes, i am opinionated. ) namely in that their existence means i name myself canon divergent these days because my portrayal of ardyn and my headcanons don’t go with the material that was released. but i very much incorporate it into his character.
i suppose that i’m controversial in that i’m old and tired and go “what we write is fiction” and leave it at that. if you’re not hurting anyone, then why not just write what feels ‘right’ for your own interpretation of a character? i know that there’s such a strong sway in fandom culture these days not to explore things that seem ‘dark’ or ‘bad’ or ‘morally wrong’ but honestly, those things should be explored. no one should censor themselves or what they want to write. so maybe i’m less a controversial headcanon person ( unless you count the fact i hc that ardyn lost his virginity at a pretty young age because the few things i gleaned from his episode and dlc was that their culture at the time seemed very roman based ) and just outright controversial.
i’m old and i just want to have fun, ya dig?
