The thing is sometimes it really does feel like you've been put through the wringer on an old washing machine, but that phrase has outlived the device for which it's named. Few know the bone crunching skin pinching agony of getting caught in a wringer. So the drama of using such a phrase is lost as the phrase lives on a cliche. The agony of it all is unknowable to most as we hear the phrase "put through the wringer."

New washer!!!

Inktober days 11-13!  Only one Chara this time lol. (Click through to see them in full.)

The first one is of course chara of my robotchara for the prompt “the gardener.”  The second one (for the prompt “the dog”) is Twig from Hilda, which I’ve just started watching and it’s Great. (I’m on the second episode, no spoilers pls).

The third one is Palmer and Nipper from the novel Wringer by Jerry Spinelli.  It was my favorite book as a kid and I recently reread it, and boy do I see why I loved it so much. (Prompt was “the birds.”)
