I have a crazy weird obsession with characters that know they won't live long.
Like they could have a curse, disease or idk something to do with their bloodline, idc what as long as it's untreatable,
Because their interactions become so much more interesting and sad (especially the closer they are to death)
And they most certainly usually have a unique outlook and perspective on life, not having all that much time left
And omg if they have someone people ship them with? Or if they are a plot relevant character? (Main character )
When everyone else finds out after they kept it hidden for whatever reason?
The angst is sooooo juicy
"NO!" Sirena roared, refusing to believe, to process the fact that Drusilla is dying
"Sirena listen to me-" Drusilla pleaded, almost out right begging the girl, her sister in all but blood, to listen to her,
"NO, NO I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THIS, I REFUSE!" Her shouting could be heard from everywhere in the forest, so opposite her usual tone, one of sweetness and love, a voice that would make the sweetest honey bitter,
Though perhaps she is the bitter one now, her eyes (so beautiful, so lovely) were filled with rage and doubt, (yet is that fear I see in them? Or would it be more appropriate to say acceptance?) so changed that the once pastel pink eyes of hers are now borderline blood red in their wrath,
But through everything, even with the raging look Sirena was giving her, one that could put the storming ocean to shame, Drusilla could not bring herself to feel anything other then love for the girl Infront of her, truly her little sister was the the loveliest of all (she forced herself to think these thoughts, for if she thought of the current situation she would break)
"Sirena please, you have to listen to me!" How many times has she begged her now? How many times has she just pleaded that the other girl listen to her? Would she have to get on her knees? To kiss her feet? To only then get her to listen?
Finally that seemed to reach the other girl, for Sirena calmed herself down, or as much as she could with the current situation at hand, Drusilla truly wanted to cry now, finally, finally! After ages of trying to calm the other down she can now talk! Though she doesn't know if this is a better situation then the last,
"Sirena you need to understand, no matter how hard that may be, I am dying, no, I'm already half way dead, the claws of the reaper are in me, and they are not letting go until I draw my last breath, I wouldn't have much longer then a couple of months if I'm lucky, if not then it's estimated to be around 3 weeks, I don't want to fight with you, not with so little time left for me, so please, stop" the last word left her mouth as a silent whisper, one last plead for understanding, she was doing all she can to not start sobbing right here, right now, she didn't know if she could still argue with Sirena, she was growing quite tired of this.
Sirena, almost as if she didn't hear her last words (she most certainly did) said with near hysteria "NO! We can fix this! We can fix this, I'll, I'll just ask Luis, Yes! Luis would know what to do! We'll figure out a cure and you'll get better, then we can continue on like everythings okay!" Sirena was shaking, laughing fully hysterically now, her eyes were looking at her, silently begging her to play with, to say that this idea would work (to say this isn't real, that everything was just some messed up dream)
But Drusilla has had enough, she understood that Sirena is most certainly filled already with grief at the mere thought of losing her but this is taking it to far, to ask Luis? No that man has already dealt with enough, she was not going to burden him with this as well, she was guilty already with having to cause him grief, she can't ask this of him too, (he already did so much for her)
"No Sirena, you know as well as I do that would not work, and I simply can't not having you burden Luis with this, that man has suffered enough" more then she would have liked, but she could do nothing about it.
Sirena looked like she wanted to argue, to continue to fight about this, to try and convince her only family to keep fighting but something in Drusillas tone stopped her, and finally, finally for the first time since she heard the news of her sisters disease, she saw what she was denying herself, the black circles underneath her chocolate brown eyes, how her skin was paler then usual, how skinny she was, (she could partially see her bones)
How it looked like the weakest of winds could knock her down, and Sirena let herself weep
For her beloved sister, her only family is dying, (no she is dead) not caring about being subtle she weeped and cried and despaired
Drusilla too, finally let herself cry, weeping alongside her sister, holding her close as they both cried for their inevitable departure from each other,
And as they sat there crying holding eachother, the forest bore witness to the heartbreak of two angels
YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN!?!??!? Also I'm sorry if this sucks I'm not a good writer pls forgive me 🥲🥲
