I've always loved science.
I always watch documentaries about it in Nat Geo and Discovery Channel. I even considered being an astronaut, architect, engineer, biologist, and botanist. But I realize that no matter how much I want to be in these feilds, I might not be able to make it. I'm not the strongest person in the world. I have enough of my brain to understand aand execute the concepts but I don't think I'll be sane by the end of the process. I don't think that's worth it.
The past year, I have been depressed and suicidal. The main things that kept me alive were my drafts of short stories, garden, and unfinished novels. I couldn't leave them like this. What would happen to my characters? My plants? The worlds I've worked so hard on? I can't put my blood, sweat, and tears to waste.
You see, writing is my escape, the way I express myself, and what's somehow keeping me sane. Sure, I get writer's blocks and discouraged by rejection letters but that's not everything I get from doing it. I love writing. It has given me the strength to voice out my opinions and share my thoughts. And with it, I keep on learning about myself.
As much as I love science, it's not enough to give me the will to live.
