Vampires, Elves, and Faeries when it comes to humanoid sentient creatures. For actual magic beasts/animals - phoenixes, dragons, and Krakens!

Playstation, Xbox, or Nintendo controller layout:

I'm more of a PC gamer myself, but if I had to choose, Playstation all the way! I still have the PS2 I got when I was a kid - and it is still in working order! - and might buy a PS5 someday, though I still prefer playing on my computer.

Best time to get out of bed:

On vacation/weekends, 8 to 9AM (sometimes even 10AM, rsrs) because I'm a night owl that can't function like a normal human being in the mornings. On normal days, 6:30AM / 7:00AM, and I just power through it with the power of sheer will and black tea.

Did you ever have a tamagotchi:

No, but I did like those early online games where you take care of a virtual pet, which is similar. I had a giant collection of the Littlest Pet Shop dolls and Hot Wheels, which I built up over the years like a little gremlin's hoard.

Dare I say I'm feeling motivated??? I've been working on Where Paradise Died and Lived a lot recently and went on an absolute tear with it this month––wrote 1k+ words in two days or something so very happy with how it's going! You'll appreciate this, I really owe it to Miss Taylor Swift and Speak Now TV, I heard I Can See You one (1) time and legit rewrote a scene that weekend to better fit the lyrics because the song was just so WPDL coded LMAO RIP. But it also turned out to be a really good chunk of words so I'm actually in love with it?? It will hopefully make an appearance soon, so I'd like to thank Taylor for making this possible lol. (I also was able to see her in New Jersey for the Eras Tour back in May so my ears have been quite blessed recently.)

Hey guys, thanks for everything this year.

I haven't even been on the writing side of tumblr for a whole year, and it feels like I've been here all my life. This feels like home and I have made so many writer friends <3

This year has had it's ups and downs, but you guys were definitely one of the best parts for me. We are all so supportive of each other and it feels so great to finally have so people to talk about my writing to.

Thank you to all of my followers, everyone who has ever commented on my work or sent me an ask about it, and thank you especially to @rose-bookblood , @bloodlessheirbyjacques , @memento-morri-writes , @mr-writes , @italiangothicwriteblr , @friendlyneighborhood-writer and so many more people (i'll never be able to tag all of you, but if you see this and you have ever had a friendly interaction with me about writing, consider yourself tagged) for welcoming me into the community, being my writer buddies, fangirling over my stuff and letting me fangirl over yours, and most of all helping me gain confidence in my writing. You guys are the reason I finally started drafting Fractured Stars Falling after years of it just being an idea that not making it beyond some bullet points in a notebook.

I didn't really have any goals for this year, other than to actually start putting my ideas down on the page and start drafting, but I've already accomplished so much more than that.

Writing Goals for 2023:

Finish at least 1 first draft for one of my books in Fractured Stars Falling (it's probably going to be Snow Knight or Sleeping Beauty's Bodyguard), and make a little progress on the others.

Start drafting The City is Ours and Burning Stars (I revised the title)! I'm so close, I just have to give the outlines a little more structure ( really want to do some writing exersizes in January)

Start outlining my witchy wip and vestal virgin historical fantasy wip (and flesh out the characters and name the projects!)

New intros from my blog, WIPs, and characters!

Also masterlist for the writing i've posted on here!

Write something down every day. Even if it's just one sentence for the day.

Yes, I am writing a whole musical. A friend of mine is composing for me and together we are writing a really sweet story about family based on semi-real events. It's been such a passion project of mine! I haven't been working on it lately, but hopefully I will soon and then you won't be able to shut me up about it. 😊

And thank you, I'm pretty proud of that title myself. Completely based on real events.

Writeblr intro

hello everyone! i've been part of the tumblr writing community for a while, and until now I've had this account as a place where I save things that inspire me during my writing process and other tips and tricks, but I wanted to introduce myself and finally interact with some of the other writeblrs out there!!

A bit about me:

i'm Rian (ree-on), im 22 & I use she/they pronouns !

my favorite genres are fantasy, romance, historical fiction, supernatural, and sci-fi

Some of the tropes that currently have me in a chokehold are found family & true enemies to lovers

My current WIP is high fantasy, set in a thriving costal kingdom. my OC is heir to the kingdom and has been taught a non-traditional method of practicing magic. she faces prejudice because of this, but when unexplained magical disturbances plague the land her people look to her to figure it out and save them.

some of the themes and motifs i'm interested in are sacrifice, power, sanity, perspective, and misunderstanding/misinformation

I'm super interested in building complex, believable characters and i want to create a story (and a world) where good and evil aren't so black and white.

I love an anti-hero and im currently exploring my OC's darkness and how it grows and changes her throughout the story
